Everything you read here is considered out of character knowledge, to play according to this information in-game is considered crossing and is against the rules. I'm a freak of nature;
- General Information;
Colin was born in London on October 15th 1985 as Colin William Ainsworth, son of Malcolm L. Ainsworth and Patricia E. Ainsworth. An only son, or so he was lead to assume his entire life, Colin was sent to the finest schools and raised in fashion. Though he is particularly snob due to his upbringing, he has been exposed to sufficient instances to know that life holds much, much worse things than the ones he's been acquainted with. His vigilant nature is due in large part to his paranormal ability to read people's emotions; he knows humans are not entirely trustworthy. Note, that he can neither read people's minds nor understand why people feel what they are feeling, but he can experience their emotions.
[/li][li] [/li][li] Appearance; Colin stands exactly six feet tall, his figure slender and his hair ruffled untidily at the top. His most striking feature are probably his cerulean, bordering cyan coloured eyes. His lips are noteworthy and rather plush, which, when paired with the rest of his rather planar and soft features, gives him a childish appearance. His skin is freckled, and burns easily. His hair has a reddish tint to it, and curls lightly when the weather is humid.
Fashion-wise, Colin dresses properly but comfortably. His family means allow for brand names to filter into his closet easily, but his main reason for picking something up and subsequently buying it, is based on how well it fits him. He often sports v-neck sweaters over shirts and t-shirts. Depending on the nature of the engagement, he will either wear baggy jeans, or straight-edged pants. Blazers, sweatshirts (rarely), sweatpants (rarely), jackets, boots, sneakers... all are items he may be seen wearing. He is quite fond of accessories such as scarves and belts.
[/li][li] [/li][li] Personality; Due to his ability to sense people's feelings, Colin manages to manipulate situations to his advantage and comes out shinning. He tends to stick to people he senses are attracted or similar to him, but is not afraid to step out of that perimeter. Most likely, he will remain silent and asses a situation before stepping in, unless he is with a relatively small group of three or less. He takes well to strangers, seemingly unable to be offended by people and their differing points of view. Despite his ease at meeting strangers, Colin has very few friends and is very conservative when labelling people around him as such. Being able to tell what people feel, and therefore guess how they feel in regards to him, he can make rather accurate assumptions on how the relationship may evolve.
He appears confident on the outside, but it is because of his ability to read people and therefore chose those he surrounds himself with, that he is that way. Around those who he can't read so well, he is a little more hesitant about approaching them, but he doesn't shy away.

[/li][li]It's not something he stumbled across by accident. He was born a freak and embraced his difference. His ability is as restrictive as it is liberating, for his own emotions are often overshadowed by those of the people he surrounds himself with. It's a very subtle exchange of inner thoughts, his mind saturated by the sentiments of others whilst his seep into theirs. Troubling, quite, but time often causes things to lose their consequence, which is why until now Colin has never given this 'power' much thought. He can read humans with ease, but upon arriving to Ravenblack he finds he has trouble reading the city's inhabitants. He wonders whether this city, his power, and his link to Chloe, might hold any answers. [/li][li] Ravenblack; [/li][li]Colin decided to take a break between finishing his undergraduate studies at Cambridge University, and starting medical school. Upon a brief, but troubling, exchange with his father's female friend, he finds out he has a younger sister birthed by this woman. Needless to say, the woman hints about knowing his abilies, and Colin finds himself unable to read the woman's feelings. He has come to Ravenblack to seek Chloe, and get answers, from what her mother suggested, his younger half-sibling is equally glitched. [/li][/ul]

SiringStatus: not siring
- Note: To all those interested in having Colin as a sire, you must read the section below entirely.
- I won't beat around the bush, my siring requirements are demanding. I will only take into consideration characters that have depth and are thoroughly played out, where the writer puts an effort in making the development as interesting and reasonable as possible. In order to give my words some context, here's an example: If your character is a relatively average human being, with morals similar to those of the society he lives within, murder (killing humans for food) and stealing (Dark Alleyway powers: Thievery 1-3) won't come naturally. There will be a certain level of complexity in developing the character's psyche in a realistic way that will allow him to freely use his powers and sustain himself.
- With that said, not many people seem to have a great deal of interest in working on their characters, other than setting up their closet and super-natural, non-dark alleyway powers. Colin will not sire someone who has no potential, his childer must have purpose and show a significant reason as to why he would offer them immortality. When you request I look at your character's profile and/or siring thread, please make sure you flesh out your request and make me *want* to read.
Colin will only sire humans. He also will only sire *special* humans, if their powers can be linked to the game. For example, Colin's mental ability did not start out related to the game, but it was fairly weak and embryonic. However, as he gained Telepathy and Charisma, he was able to develop his skill. I except potential childer to follow a similar path if they will gain or already have some exceptional trait.
- I don't want players who will skip over development, in order to get bored within a couple months, and eventually drop off the face of the Earth, or resort to overly unrealistic ways to keep their plot interested (premature bonding, or unreasonable severing, for example).
- If you have other characters in game, I wish to know who they are. I do so for two reasons:
a) if I witness growth throughout the existence of your precedent character, I'm more likely to have Colin sire, because I'll have something to base my opinion on. b) If you continuously have created characters each time an idea crossed your skull, only to drop them weeks later, I will not be inclined to have Colin sire. Now, everyone is entitled to a second chance, which is why, depending on how well you express your request and set up your character this time, I might be willing to accept with no qualms.
Players who eventually do flake are annoying. When someone fails to meet my demands, especially by disappearing during or after a siring thread, I ask staff for the IP address, so that in future, when I get a request that appears to be similar, I can ask a staff member to check if this new character is a fabrication of the previous player. I've put much, too much effort in siring threads, only to have people disappear, and I don't appreciate that kind of attitude. If you have to stop playing, then the least you can do is send me a message explaining the situation.
- With all that said, I am much more likely to have Colin sire your character if you have the following:
- Character Sheet
- Yahoo! Messenger, or MSN
- Decent writing skills
**** Colin will not sire character's whose player lacks the courtesy to use spell check and proper punctuation
[/li][li] First time players;I am willing to explain the game in detail and provide excellent resources.[/li][li] Once siredColin expects childer to gain at least 10 powers within the first four months. BP doesn't matter, since you can't control blood loss (hunters, other players, locate quests, stamina quest). Once your character has reached six powers in game, Colin will help in-game as much as he can. I expect your character to follow the rules of the Marcellus bloodline in regards to siring and other major themes in-games.[/li][li] AdoptionsI review these requests on a case-by-case basis.
