Chiru closed her eyes sitting in the booth, she tapped her fingers on the edge of the table wondering slightly if he would show. True he wasn't one of the most well social of vampires she has come across in this city nor would he ever see her as anything but Chiru which was perfectly find with her but she did wish to work on a stronger bond with him.
She found him much like how she had been when she had first walked in this city... and perhaps that's why she found she fond of him. Just as much as she was fond of his sire... Elisha. She knew her grandchilder, she knew her great great grandchilder as well, though she didn't know them. What they liked, what they enjoyed and she wanted to change that above all else.
Though that was because she herself wasn't that social when it came down to it. She closed her eyes, there was no real reason for this meeting, she simply wanted to get to know him better. Nothing wrong with that was there? She stared at the two wolves her eyes half closed in a lazy matter. "Wonder..." she said softly towards them. "...shall be different..." she muttered softly before laying down in the booth, it was a good thing she was dressed more male this time around, a black suit that was form to her body and gave no hints at all she was anything more than a male.
That was who she was though, she would never tell if she was a female or a male, and that's just how she wanted it.

Logan had gotten the invitation the evening prior, and so he had time to consider accepting the invitation. It was a bit of a dilemma for him; he wasn't one for socialising... at least not without ulterior motives. He had yet to get used to being sociable with those he was to consider as family, and this invitation seemed to come unexpectedly.
Sure, he had met Chiru once or twice, but they were mostly at what he thought had been formal gatherings, where extended family members mingled and attended to matters pertaining to the House. And even then it was because Elisha had dragged him along.
Now Chiru wanted a meeting, face-to-face... over a cup of tea?
It made him chuckle briefly when he first got the invitation; it had been so unlike a meeting he had come to expect from a vampire. Surely a meeting over a cup of warm blood would be more fitting? Or perhaps a Bloody Mary, a literal Bloody Mary, with 6 parts real blood, 3 parts vodka and 1 part lemon juice.
Well, a meeting couldn't hurt, could it? After all Chiru was a respected member in the vampire community, hell she was the matriarch of her bloodline, so it wouldn't hurt for him to get to know her a little better.
Logan decided to dress a little casual this evening, choosing one of his favourite skull-print Affliction ash-grey t-shirts, a black denim jacket, and jeans. He wore his usual boots of course, favoring them over dress shoes usually worn for a more formal occasion, but for a meeting over tea, he thought that perhaps dress shoes and a tuxedo might be overkill.
Before he left, he knocked on Elisha's door and told her where he would be, as a simple gesture of courtesy. After that he took off on his favourite chopper, a chrome T-Rex Softail, custom built and modified to his liking.
Ten minutes later, he was parked outside the Lounge and making his way in. Finding Chiru laying down in a booth, he smiled and strode over to her, eyeing her two wolves cautiously as he approached closer.
"You wanted to see me, Chiru?"

Chiru eyes opened slow and lazy like and even her movements to fully sit up were seemly slow far to slow to be normal at least, she swung her legs down, as she came to a full sitting position and stared at him for a moment, her eyes tilting slightly "first rule is to not smoke around her..." she said that with a far amount of warning in her voice as she nodded towards the other edge of the table which would put him right next to Kisho as Kimi had taken this moment to get off and sit next to Chiru.
She waited for him to sit before she smiled softly, "no family business tonight Logan... not asking you for Elisha's hand either... nor yours. So no need to worry about that." She pulled herself to face him as she lifted the white teapot with blue roses up and poured herself a cup of tea into a cup that matched, it dark liquid moving inside of it before she sat it down. Then picked up a blue teapot with white roses on it, "tea?" she paused looking at it for a moment, then smirked "This one is not poisoned she can assure you of that much."

"First rule is to not smoke around her..."[/i]
Logan raised an eyebrow to Chiru's words; he had expected a greeting of some sort, a nice *hello* or *yes Logan I wanted to see you for a cup of tea despite the obvious invitation* but he guessed it might have been the rather curt greeting of his own.
"Reading my mind, Chiru? You really shouldn't do that, it's unnerving."
Logan smiled as he spoke, to show that he had meant the words in lighthearted humour, and he moved to sit where Chiru had gestured to. He seemed nervous at first at having to sit next to a wolf, but he in all his fake charm simply smiled and slipped into the offered seat. He pondered on petting the wolf by his side, but decided not to, thinking that perhaps it might have been a sign of disrespect towards Chiru. Some people were touchy that way, and preferred their pets admired but untouched.
He didn't know Chiru well enough to make such assumptions.
"No family business tonight Logan... not asking you for Elisha's hand either... nor yours. So no need to worry about that."[/i]
Logan nodded to convey his understanding that their meeting tonight was purely social, as he had hoped, but Chiru's words tempted a playful reaction from him.
"I should hope not, Chiru. You know I'm not one for family matters."
Then he leaned in closer to her over the table, and whispered as if conspiratorially,
"Though you know, I'm kinda hoping to ask for Elisha's hand myself. Not now though. Some day, I mean. But glad to know I won't have to compete with you for Elisha."
Logan chuckled and leant back in his seat, smiling to Chiru as she poured a cup of tea for herself and offered one to him, saying that it wasn't poisoned.
"The only poison that affects us now is Holy Water, and I doubt there's such a thing as Holy Tea, so yes I would like a cup, thank you."

Kisho head turned towards Logan for a moment before snorting slightly as she laid his head on the table his ears laid back clearly not happy to have to be sitting here next to him. Chiru eyes wandered slightly to the wolf as Logan began to speak about perhaps asking Elisha one day, she wondered slightly if this was a joke or if he was speaking truthfully, not that she mind either way.
As he made a comment about the tea she tilted her head slightly, "No but there are things that can make one very ill dead or not. Also it would not be hard to place holy water in the tea.. if you prefer she can show you how that would be done." she smirked softly as she closed her eyes.
"These are Kisho and Kimi, they stay back during family meetings, unless zslasher is playing with them, most are not to good with animals she has come to learn. Though they're not pets and you should never treat them as such. They are you see... very parts of her being." Opening her eyes she smiled softly and as though she said nothing at all she poured him some tea.
"It is rosemary, do hope it's something you would like. Rosemary and sage..." she said setting the pot down and sliding the cup towards him. "Now, Logan..." she said turning her own tea cup slightly in her hand.
"Besides taken of one's hand, what do you have planned in your future? Childer at all? To make a name for yourself? To join a clan? Surely besides one day courting Elisha, what is it that you wish to do? Or do you expect you'll remain in the shadows most nights and grow large and fat, not that there is nothing wrong with that... she's growing far to fat for her own taste though." she snarled slightly at this showing her distaste for the weight she has gained.

"No but there are things that can make one very ill dead or not. Also it would not be hard to place holy water in the tea.. if you prefer she can show you how that would be done."[/i]
Logan shook his head as Chiru asked him if he would like a demonstration of sorts with the makings of Holy Tea.
"No, thank you Chiru. I like my tea sinfully sweet, so no Holy Tea for me, thank you."
He nodded as Chiru explained that Kisho and Kimi were parts of her being, even though he could not really fathom the concept of wolves being a part of someone, but for the purposes of progressing their conversation forward, Logan decided not to probe further into the matter.
As she slid the cup of tea towards him, he accepted it graciously, thanking her with a smile.
"I can't say I've tried rosemary and sage tea before, to be honest. Green tea I've had though, not a big fan."
Logan smiled and raised the cup to breathe in the scent of the tea, like one would appreciate a snift of wine before tasting it, then shrugging he took a sip of the tea, and decided that it wasn't all too bad. As Chiru spoke to him, he set the cup back down and listened attentively. She was questioning his plans for the future, and this made him laugh inwardly as he hardly planned anything since his siring. Where his plans were concerned they had more or less went out the window when he encountered Elisha.
Sure, he was still a fugitive on the run, but no one in Ravenblack City seemed to recognise him for what he was. Perhaps it was a blessing that he had run into Elisha, but now sitting with Chiru as she asked about his future plans, it made him realise that he had a conundrum. As a human dying from a malignant brain tumour, he had grand plans of pulling off the biggest most controversial heist in human history before succumbing to the cancer in his brain.
But now, having avoided death, he realised that he had no real plans for the future.
"Childer? Me? Naw, I don't think I could ever take childer of my own. I can hardly teach myself, much less another vampire. Besides, if my beliefs about how subsequent generations end up worse than the previous ones, I think I'd breed a rather screwed up line."
Logan laughed at the idea of having childer worse than him, surely they would all be worse brats than he was to Elisha, karma and all that jazz.
"But no, to be honest I don't have any tangible plans for the future. Courting Elisha is pretty much it for now, I think. Failing that, I think I'll have to find a hobby to keep myself occupied. And nawww you don't look fat at all, I've seen a vampire the other night who makes Jabba the Hutt look like Calista Flockhart."

Chiru smiled softly, had she thought such things, well then she would have a problem. No in her mind her childer were far better than she could hope for. Which was saying much in her mind of it all, though they all seemed to be pretty strong willed for the most part, that was a good thing as well in her mind. She couldn't help but tilt her head and then turn to look at Kimi for a moment to see if she would hold the answer tot his.
She had no idea who this Jabba the Hutt was or this Calista Flockhart and she could only wonder if they were vampires in this city or not, and she had half a mind to search for them but thought best of it, she was sure if she just asked it wouldn't hurt. Looking at her tea cup she gave a nod, well perhaps future plans weren't much of a thing for him, even she had a hard time coming up with future plans, and her plans seemed to be waiting for the sire she searched for and for her husband to awaken, for her family to grow stronger, so alright she did have plans...
"Who are these Jabba the Hunt and Calista Flockhart? Are they friends of yours? Humans?" she asked tilting her head "Surely not vampires or werewolves... though perhaps the Flockhart one is..." she said tilting her head thinking about how the name could work for a werewolf if one thought hard enough on it but in her mind sounded more like a sheep name did they have weresheep in this city? She had never came across one so she couldn't be sure of that either.

Logan blinked when Chiru asked who Jabba The Hutt and Calista Flockhart were. He could not believe that she had not heard of either names.
"You don't know who Jabba The Hutt is? He's this obscenely huge, obese blob-like thing in Star Wars, big bad alien... he was a slave trader I think, an all around bad intergalactic gangster in the Star Wars movies... and I assume you haven't seen any of them. And Calista Flockhart is this actress who's really skinny, and I mean anorexic skinny, just skin and bones at one-time. So I was trying to explain how the vampire I saw made a disgustingly obese creature look anorexic."
Logan paused briefly to let it all sink in, then when it was evident he wasn't doing a good job at explaining such things, he made a dismissive gesture and said,
"Nevermind. I could rent a DVD of Star Wars, maybe we can have a family movie night some time or something."
The suggestion made him laugh for a moment as he imagined Chiru's entire House, which must consist of more than a dozen family members, extended or otherwise, crowding around a television set, fascinated by Star Wars of all things.
They couldn't all be THAT old and out of touch with the times, could they?
Logan smiled to Chiru, and took another sip of his tea before speaking once more.
"So, any plans for your future Chiru? Other than taking Elisha into your family once more, I mean."

Chiru stared at him clearly dumbfounded by this talk of something called Star Wars, her mind began to race slightly at the thought of a blog-like creature and the first thing that came into her mind was hair gel. She allowed her mind to play with that for a moment, a large blog of hair gel that seemly was smart enough to be a slave trader at that. Her mind thought about the slaves perhaps being stuck to things due to the hair gel like creature.
As he explained the other she thought about someone like herself though she was far from 'skin and bones' but she was very small frame and she knew others could not get away with such a look as she could without looking bad at it. Her mind quickly took that a way and replaced it with the image of Aneres beloved father figure, the Grim Reaper.
"Hair Gel and The Grim Reaper..." she said after a moment allowing her thoughts to get away with her "How is it that Hair Gel could be a slave trader? Not only that but what does Hair Gel eat? More Hair Gel most likely..." she said thinking about it, then wondered why Hair Gel would want to get in the slave business anyways, not like it could do much about it.
Her eyes blinked slightly again when he spoke about DVD's, she knew she wasn't that active with many things in this time area having made up her mind nothing was worth learning but now she was starting to think otherwise with these younger creatures that were being turned. "DVD's? She knows what a Movie is... she plays them on her crystal balls..." she said snapping her fingers and a crystal orb appeared, "but they're orbs not these DVDs... what is a DVD?" she asked allowing the image of a hunter attacking Kisho and dying quickly play for a moment before it faded. "What do these DVDs do? Are they a form of magic?"

"Hair Gel and The Grim Reaper..."[/i]
Logan was absolutely stumped as to how Chiru could arrive to a conversation about hair gels and the grim reaper from the mentioning of Jabba The Hutt and Calista Flockhart, so much so that he turned away from Chiru for a brief moment, and as if disbelievingly speaking to some invisible companion, he mouthed the words,
"Hair Gel and the Grim Reaper?"
He turned to look at Chiru once more, slowly, and with a frown, obviously thinking that the poor woman must be suffering from dementia or something, but of course in all his fake charm and pleasantries he was nice enough to flash a polite smile and pretend that he didn't hear anything about hair gels and grim reapers.
When the crystal ball materialised in her hand he was taken aback just a bit, still unused to the concept of magic, or any sleight of hand involving anything bigger than the palm of one's hand, like a card for example. How the heck would one flip a crystal ball from the back of one's hand like one would do with a card?
He raised an eyebrow at the *movie* playing within the crystal ball, then when Chiru asked about DVDs, he pondered long and hard about bothering to explain modern technology to someone who was obviously out of touch since 1977... or worse, even longer.
"Well a DVD is a Digital Video Disc, and it's a disc which you use to store data... and..."
Logan sighed and shook his head.
"Nevermind, I'll bring one over next time, probably on movie night or something."
Then pointing to the crystal ball in Chiru's hand, he asked,
"Hey, does that thing get any sports channels?"

Kisho stared at Logan as he mouth the words before shooting a look towards Chiru that caused Chiru to frown slightly but said nothing more of the subject of how Jabba The Hutt was a hair gel creature and how Calista Flockhart was clearly related to the Grim Reaper due to what he himself said after all.
She must had sounded like a complete moron to him, and felt slightly bad for the poor guy. "The human race as a long way to reach where her people were at the time of their destruction." She might as well start this simple with him, "These information disks... that is what this orb here does. It can take pictures, like those..." she frowned slightly thinking about it for a moment "camera can with live steam video... and can pause though haven't figured out how to use such things for printing... not that she can understand the reason for printing..."
She had to use Hide for such things really, he had come up with some way to do it all. "So you see, while this has been used for almost thousand years, humans are just now reaching the point she has gotten to... as for sports... do not see why not... though not sure what the human chemicals have to do with sports..." having taken the idea of channels to deal with high voltage-gated calcium channels.

Logan shook his head as he listened to Chiru. He really could not fathom how someone could be that out of touch with the times, not knowing what a DVD was, mistaking a sports channel for something in relation with human chemicals. Where the heck did that come from?
He wondered if this was how Brain felt when speaking to Pinky.
The thought made him laugh suddenly, the invoked images of Pinky and the Brain and their hilarity was apt for this very moment, he thought, what with the miscommunication and Chiru's seeming disconnection with the times. Logan certainly hoped he wouldn't turn out to be like Chiru when he got to Chiru's age later in his life.
"We print things to immortalise images and memories, in case our own memories fail us one day. Unfortunately the human race was never bestowed with such wondrous magical abilities or tools, like the orb you have in your hand there. We have to make do with technology, and yes perhaps your orb is based on technology more than it is magic, but given time I'm sure the human race could come up with something similar. So for now, we print our images instead of showing them in crystal balls which we don't currently have. Even if we have any we wouldn't understand the mechanics of it to make it work."
He debated on discussing the wonders of portable MP4 video players, or PDAs which can play and stream videos on demand, like the one he had in his pocket, but looking at Chiru, he chuckled and decided not to.
"Forget about the sports channel, I was kidding."
Logan smiled, glad that he didn't have to explain the concept of ESPN.
"I'm curious now, what do you know about the times that we live in now? I mean, what do you really understand about it, the technologies, the state of the world, etc."
|
|
|
Post by Chiru on Jan 22, 2008 7:15:24 GMT -5
Chiru closed her eyes debating on this subject, she wasn't sure what she knew really, she didn't really spend to much time understanding those things, and that which she did understand seemed far to simple.
Much of the state-of-art technologly wasn't very state of the art in her mind. "It's all based on the ability to achieve something... such as communication from a distance. Writing letters without parchement, doing things without the man labor of it all... how to keep things colder or hoter, without using ice or fire... a great of this can be done though telepathic messages now, of course that's not a human power and not something she herself likes to use... also she can use her crystals for eletric things..."
"Technology is indeed a science and most of the things she used to know or understand is not yet being used... true they're getting closer and closer to such things as you stated, but this orb isn't a magic... it's more or less a brain, storing information, weapons, data... everything that computers or bags can do..."
"She once made a gun, out of a diamond, a blue diamond... they're rare and hold a great deal of energy, the time it takes to make such things. Humans have not yet caught on... but a gun that never runs out of bullets... though really suppose you can't call it a bullet either..." she tilted her head slightly, "but burns like holy water when used against a vampire... is that not Technology? There was no magic behind it, but her skills in understand how a gun works... and improving it."
She closed her eyes "as for the human world she doesn't tend to follow much of what they say, she's not human any longer and most she finds to be rather stupid and lazy..." she said with a roll of her eyes. "Not that there aren't plenty of vampires out there who are the same."
She looked at him for a moment before her eyes turned towards Kimi and she blushed slightly "Hai she forgot... you asked her what her plans are... she plans to wait for her husband to awaken, to find a sire whom she believes to be best for her and this family, and work with this family to make it grow stronger. That and perhaps keep slow death weaken for awhile, until he backs off Florian" she chuckled softly, "but theb inding to another will not be for some time... it will take time. She wants to make sure... think on such things. It is not something one can so easily do in her case. There are many good vampires out there who love her and wish to give her a home and she would not be just a name to those, but something of worth..." she tilted her head slightly.
"It's not something she can simply narrow down either, such as Elisha who wished to remain apart of this family... if she had that answer of at least that much. Think it would be far easier to choose from those in this city. That she envy's Elisha, she knew more of what she wished for than she does. So for the time she will remain a master vampire, until she can figure out just what it is she's seeking."

Logan was again quite lost as to what Chiru was trying to explain to him. He had asked her what she knew about the times that they lived in, the modern era, the world as it was currently, and yet she spoke of the technologies that she had access to, technologies that had yet to be made available in this era. To be honest it all sounded quite unfathomably fantastic, as though what she described were things only possible in fantasy and science fiction.
He didn't want to get into a debate about her technologies and abilities, he simply wanted to know what Chiru knew of the era.
"Actually Chiru, I think even though we aren't humans any longer, we should still make an effort to keep in touch with the human world, because we live in it and because our prey live in it. If we seem out of touch with the human race, how are we supposed to blend in with human society seamlessly?"
Logan frowned and paused for a moment, as if collecting his thoughts, then looked to Chiru once more.
"You speak as if you were never a human to begin with. Just because we're not humans any longer doesn't mean we have to disconnect ourselves from their world. Don't you think that it's unwise to do so, to be so disconnected? How else will you connect with anyone human, friend or prey? See, even as we speak to each other you don't know half of what I'm talking about. You don't know Star Wars, you don't know DVDs, it makes connecting with the younger generations harder, you know? If you're having trouble speaking to my generation, what more further down the line?"
He looked to his cup of tea, as if unsure if he should go on, concerned briefly that he might seem rude in questioning Chiru's methods of doing things. Then he thought to hell with it, he had always spoken his mind, and it was not going to change just because he was speaking to a centuries-old vampire.
"It's not about finding them to be lazy or whatever, it's about being a part of their world so you don't end up an obsolete relic in an alien world. You should know your prey's environment in order to be the smart predator, or else you're no better than a carnivorous animal living day to day in its jungle, stalking, hunting, prowling. Where's the fun in that?"
Logan took a breath, more out of habit than anything, and he rubbed his brow as if the conversation was more taxing than it really was. He took a sip of his tea, and smiled to Chiru as he set the cup back down.
"Sounds like you've got a very detailed future ahead of you, Chiru. Got a lot going for you it seems, your search for a new Sire, that thing with Slow Death, Elisha's siring, or should I say resiring into the Family..."
There were a few questions he had in mind about Elisha's eventual re-initiation into Chiru's bloodline, but since their meeting was not about family matters, he decided to keep his questions unspoken.

Chiru turned over the words he had spoken, she had never been one to care about what the humans of this time and age did or any other time of age. "She can't really say she was a human... or at least not human in the sense of humans now." This was truth of the matter.
She knew her race the Abbadon were indeed humans but they were much smarter, wiser, up to date than the rest of the world and had locked themselves up from the rest of the world as well. True they had been for the most part peaceful in all ways, and that in the end had caused their death, caused her madness and her slaying of those people. "Power can be the downfall of anyone, that does not change. Peace can't not be done when the rest of the world does not understand such things, that is a given..." she said looking at him now.
True she knew little about the things in this time and age. When he spoke about carnivorous animals, living day to day... stalking, hunting and prowling she found an anger grow inside of her. Had he not listened when she spoke about Kisho and Kimi being apart of her
The teacup shattered in her hands as she tried to control the anger that rosed inside of her, "Logan, you should hold your tongue about such things around her." Her eyes were pitch black now and Kisho was growling under his breath fangs showing, even Chiru seemed to take more of a wild look about her.
"You see Logan those carnivorous animals, took care of her for many years. The stalking, hunting and prowling has not changed in all of her years in this world and the only difference is the toys they use to return that stalking, hunting and prowling." she snapped at him. "She never asked to be turned, she was cursed with this life and why should she change her ways to please those who don't even understand or fear what she is?" she closed her eyes allowing herself to relax her hand going towards Kimi's fur and after a few moments Kisho growling ended and as she opened her eyes she looked at him carefully.
"She has changed enough to stop running around in furs, but she will not change who she is or what she is. Is it such a pain for those of this time and age to explain such things as DVDs or Star Wars? Does she not also have to explain things that are of other times, of other worlds or magical in all respect? She does not ask you to change and learn magic, or to learn how to use crystals that do the same things as many of the stuff you have now. So why would you ask her to do the same? Explain to her how your words are fair on anyone else who has lived so long as she who has seen that taken the time to learn about what things are now, simply up and changes the next moment? Tell her why of all the things that have happened in the past, they are repeated over and over again? Should not one learn about the past so they do not make the same mistakes? Yet no one seems to learn from their past but expect the past to change and be like everyone else?" she was rambling she was sure and so she shut her mouth, was most likely pointless in this.
She stood and left coming back shortly with a towel to clean up the shattered mess of glass and tea, "forgive her for her rudeness, but she doesn't take kindly to those that insult what taught her." she said simply.

As Chiru went into her little outburst and ranted, Logan reacted with barely a raise of an eyebrow, noticing Chiru's change in demeanour, the colour of her eyes shifting to pitch black evoked little reaction from him. He didn't know if he should fear her now, or if he should stutter an apology like most would when coming face to face with an angered vampire who was centuries old and who was no doubt more powerful than he was.
Why the hell was Chiru so worked up anyway? He didn't insult her deliberately. To Logan he had simply gone with what was told to him, she said that she was no longer human, so she had to be one prior to her vampiric existence, hadn't she? And the wolves, they were a part of her, sure, but even so if she had been human before and bonded with those wolves later in her life, she would still have been human in her life before, he expected for her to understand the mechanics of being a human, regardless of her being part wolf. How the hell would he know her full story when she hadn't even begun to tell it?
Logan looked from the shattered teacup in Chiru's hand, to the woman herself, and now as he watched her calmly, yet his own eyes showed the turmoil of emotions within him, the barely checked anger that had roused his own inner vampire, the beast that he so often struggled to rein in. Blood seemed to flow from the brown flecks in his eyes, crimson filling the tiny veins within his eyes till they encompassed even the whites, and now as he stared at Chiru ranting and raving in her anger, it was evident that he had no fear of anyone nor of their temper. He even glanced at Kisho as the wolf growled at him, and when he turned his eyes once more to Chiru, she would see him smile, a polite, albeit artificial smile that he so often gave to others he intended to con.
Yet this, coupled with his crimson eyes, seemed to suggest the sinister calm of a fearless creature, who had no qualms about losing either life or limb if they were to engage in a physicality. It was obvious that Logan was not the kind to be intimidated easily.
"Are you done?"
He asked Chiru the question as she stood and began cleaning the mess she caused, his voice even and calm despite the anger he felt rising within. He had had about enough of the miscommunication, and he expressed it the best he could.
"First of all, I didn't insult you. I spoke my mind about how I thought we should live. I was expressing an opinion. Perhaps you're not used to people speaking their mind, but I am not one to hold my tongue just because someone doesn't like my opinion about things."
Logan tilted his head as he regarded Chiru, his expression unreadable, that practiced charm he exuded was infallible even in his rage.
"The carnivorous animal I spoke of was not meant for your wolves. If I had meant your wolves, I would have said so plainly. But I said 'animal', meaning a general carnivorous animal, a savage creature. All you've told me is that the wolves are a part of you. Yet at no point have you said that you were never human to begin with. From your own words I would expect you to have been human once before, and understand the mechanics of being one. Your bond with the wolves would not have mattered had you been fully human once before. Now if you weren't fully human before, that changes things entirely, but how would I know that when you have not told me everything there is to know about you?"
He smiled now, a hint of his elongated fangs showing his unwavering calm, yet the irony his fangs presented was clear; Logan would not hesitate to release his own angered beast if Chiru provoked it.
"My words are fair, I did not ask you to change, I asked your opinion about changing and keeping in touch with the times to make your own existence easier. Perhaps I'm close-minded, perhaps I'm impudent in saying this, but I think I would find living for centuries to be quite mundane without the challenge of changing with the times, such mundane boredom would surely drive me quite demented."
Logan narrowed his eyes now, and it showed just a hint of cruelty that was to follow from his words.
"How you came to be and how unwillingly you became what you are matters little. Cursed or otherwise, you always have a choice. If you feel that such an existence for you is an unbearable burden you could always choose to end it. Yet you haven't. And so you made a choice to be in our world, and it is still your choice whether you end up a relic who knows nothing of the times you live in, or you change and adapt for your own survival. No one expects the past to change, I certainly don't. I expect the present to change so that one can accommodate for the future. History repeats itself because no one learns from their past, changes their present, and foresee the future."
With a blink of his eyes, the crimson dissipated into their normal brown hue, and his smile was now once more charming, playful, and handsomely human.
"Forgive me for my rudeness, but I don't take kindly to those who come to the wrong conclusions about my stated opinions."

She allowed his words to turn in her mind again. There was nothing wrong with how she lived now, how she has always lived. Nor did she deem such things to be a problem now, seeing as the human race seemed to have a habit of taken back from the past, repeating their mistakes. "She was human, but she was a human that did not take part in the rest of the world for the most part." How to explain such things would be hard she was sure.
"Her people, watched the rest of the world but did not... take part in it for the most part. Shadows, people who gave wisdom to others... whispered words into the minds of others. Muses... hai that's a good way to say it. Muses..." though even that wasn't right they didn't deal with anything that could be seen as art like. Ideals perhaps, a hint to medical herbs to help those that were ill, shamans, magical users. Gods at one time her people had been seen as... but even that they weren't gods, but demi gods who had Gods of their own...
She shook her head "Logan, she is not part wolf, they are apart of her... pieces of what is left of her human life..." no even that wasn't correct. Disappearing to grab another cup and put the towel away she returned and poured herself another cup of tea before sitting down. "It's very hard to explain, but while many have their hearts stop beating, she has no heart at all within her chest..." she touched her chest for a moment before looking back at him. "No heart at all, not even a dead unbeating heart... so then the question because how does her blood turn? How is it that she is warm to the touch and very human in many ways... the answer is she doesn't know."
"So they are her, and she is them." She nodded towards the two wolves as she looked back towards him. "When they mate they will die and their pups will take forth that part of her." she frowned softly at this. "For many years she lived in the wild, no memory of ever being human, only to had awaken in the mist naked and with these wolves... well no not these wolves, those before them... they have died... the pack at the time was a total of 23 wolves... and each time pups appeared wolves would die... but they would live for years and years... she was later found by... what many called, beasts... savages... only now they are called Native Americans... she had a care taker who taught her about this world and he killed by a hunter. He too was a vampire..." she frowned at this thought.
"It is there she believes she comes to understand she had no heart, for the shot should had killed her but didn't..." she shook her head slightly at this. "She returned to the wild until they were forced off the land that they had lived on freely for as long as she could recall, and we the wolves and herself were forced to go deeper and deeper into the forests into the wild... our form of hunting has severed us for all this time. Why change what works? Many now are so used to using what men have made to hunt, that they have lost touched with the magical side of this world, and have lost touch with nature itself. Why should she change such things? She has great understand of the land she's in, and the area of that land and hence hunting is not a problem. Humans fear wolves, and Kisho and Kimi are far from your normal wolves..." she smirked softly. "Which places fear even further on her side. Add the fact that unlike many in this city she can live on this tea..." she nodded towards the tea in her cup, "and does not require much blood also helps. Add the fact that she is a Priestess who is normally surrounded by human monks and one simply assumes that she's far to spiritual and hence is trying to stay in touch with the more spiritual nature of the world."
"She understands more than it seems and she understands more so that she has no reason at all to change, she has found ways to understand English that is written by having another read it to her, one whom would never lie to her... she has found ways to block those from reading her mind and those that do read her mind or try learn to never try such a thing again..." she paused for a moment taken her tea cup and moving it to her lips as she drank slowly from the cup, holding it down slightly she smiled again.
"Now as for her human race, the Abbadon... we are said to bring forth the end of the world. The last Abbadon will be the one to unlock that... and she is the last of her race. Now she doesn't believe such things her husband will kill a god, perhaps it will be Astaroth who is a god or has a god within him. But her people were all connected within our minds. When one was born the shift of knowledge of data of information shifted as well, to make room for a new child, when one died that knowledge was shifted again to take care to not lose anything, knowledge that was gained also worked this way. What she knew was known by another... and what was known by another she to could know. This was how it was... always a humming and turning within our minds. Only those not born of an Abbadon could not understand such things... but they raced there children in such ways they had no choice. Her people are dead and now she is the only one who holds all that knowledge.... locked inside of her, they say humans only use 10% of their brains... she is telling you that those of her race, found a way to use more than that, to storage knowledge as needed within their minds into a single person and if required that person could then share it as needed... think of all the knowledge that would require to do such a thing. Then tell her, do you really believe she was human in the ideas of what are humans now? Sometimes she doubts such things..."
She frowned softly at this thought. "It is perhaps this reason she has no desire to learn more about such things that do not deal with her and hai she doesn't see them has having to deal with her. For that is knowledge she can seek from another, such as yourself to explain to her if required. True she would then hold that knowledge but then at that time and only at that time it has become important to understand and know." she sighed softly thinking about it all, "She has much knowledge, but she can not unlock it all without losing the information and knowledge she knows already which sometimes means... forgetting those whom she knows and loves. Why risk such a thing?"

Logan listened to all that Chiru had to say, attentively it seemed, as the frown upon his brow suggested. Her words about her origins, her beliefs, her ideals... he found it hard to believe them all, it was as though she spoke of a fantasy world that existed only in books of fiction and science fiction. The part about the wolves being a part of her, and essentially being her heart and soul, that intrigued him just a bit and begged the question of what would happen to her if either one or both the wolves were harmed.
But it was all too far fetched for him to take seriously. He had only just accepted the existence of vampires, having been turned into one himself, and now the vampire seated across from him was asking him to believe in a world that he thought existed in lores spun by the likes of J.R.R. Tolkien and other fantasy writers.
When Chiru asked him if he believed her to be human in the ideas of what humans were now, he smiled and shook his head, and spoke in blunt honesty,
"No, I don't think you're human. From the way you speak, having watched us for centuries and not taking part in the world, you seem to be gods more than humans. Therein lies our difference, Chiru. I have been human. You haven't. That's what's causing the confusion."
Logan looked at his now empty cup and wondered if there had been so many frequent awkward pauses in their conversation in which he had sipped his tea till his cup was empty. He set the cup aside and returned his gaze and attention back to Chiru.
"From what you've told me, I don't consider you human as such. You're what I would consider as a demi-god; watching humans from a distance, never being a part of it, and never truly understanding what it's really like to be human and have all of their flaws. Perhaps I may be wrong, perhaps you're simply an advanced race, but you're right."
He smiled just a tad cynically now, pausing briefly as if to consider his words and if she would take them to be cruel or harsh.
"You're right in thinking that the human world has nothing to do with you, perhaps because you think you're superior to them, above them, what with your magic and advanced brain capacities. You have nothing left to learn from humans, and so you shouldn't learn to understand the mechanics of being human and their world. However I don't think you're in any position to criticise humans and their way of life. Granted, they can sometimes be foolish enough to repeat history and refuse to learn from their mistakes, but they move on, they survive. They do what is necessary to continue on, and they evolve. Why change something that works? Because without change and evolution humans will become extinct, in fact I believe any species would become extinct if they do not adapt to their changing environment. It's the natural order of things, and humans may have quite the journey ahead of them in their potential of becoming a higher species such as yours, but after millions of years of evolution, the human race lives on. Can you say the same for your race of demi-gods?"
Logan took a breath, unnecessary perhaps, but it felt good to sigh now and then. Plus, trying to understand Chiru was taxing, to say the least.
"Forgive me if all that comes across as a little harsh. Sometimes I'm incapable of using that 10% you mentioned when it comes to speaking my mind. I have to say though, that point about forgetting those who you know and love when you make space for new knowledge? That's why we have journals and printed photographs, to constantly remind us of our loved ones so we won't forget. Now you see the reason for printing?"
He spoke as though he were still human, and in his mind he still was human, despite his transition to a vampire. If his fervent defence of the human race did not outwardly make it obvious, surely this personal perspective showed his reluctance of forsaking his humanity.

Chiru closed her eyes a small smile playing across her lips, "Can you really say that her people, did not change as required?" she looked at him slightly, "Has she not changed, to share such information, to share what she had always known... with.... carnivorous animals, in this respect the wolves."
She looked down at her teacup her eyes soften heavily for a moment, "and you are not understanding Logan... journals, orbs like what she uses, photographs that humans use... all these things... she herself can not see them... one can read what is written to her, tell her what is there, recopy it... but her eyes, her mind, will not see it... Kimi and Kisho know... and even then they can not show her what it is they see in those cases." she paused turning the cup slightly in her hands, "for her, she will not see or hear or know such things at all. Nothing can change that, it has taken her enough time to recall what it is she can recall from her second sire. Even then most of it is from stories from another and these are stories that had to repeated over and over and over again... for her to even catch part of those things."
She looked up at him again given a faint of a smile, "Humans are indeed able to change as require but so is she and she has no reason to change until there is indeed a reason for such things. Humans at the time, simply assume she's some new form guru... and she has no problem with them thinking such things. Though do note she is not a demi-god nor were her people, we were simply cursed by those of even a higher being whom are our gods. Yet let her ask you something..."
She found herself smirking as she looked towards her Kimi, "If a wolf could write about gods, do you think they would make their gods like man or like wolves?" she looked at him slightly awaiting his answer on this.

Logan listened to all that Chiru had to say, nodding and humouring the bits he didn't quite understand. Which happened to be alot. Yet he smiled congenially, and seemed sympathetic about Chiru's apparent memory problems and her reluctance to change. Of course he disagreed with a lot of things that was being said, he had his own opinions that contradicted her thoughts on such matters, but he was past the point of speaking his mind, and had since reverted to his false smiles and counterfeit charm. He was the con-artist now, the charming liar, and instead of speaking his mind, the words that he spoke were now aimed to placate and perhaps patronize Chiru in some way.
"I get it, really I do."
When she asked him the question about wolves writing about gods, he raised an eyebrow at the peculiarity of the question, but he kept up the smile, that charming plastic smile, and he shrugged.
"I would think they'd make their gods like wolves, why would they make their gods in the likeness of Man? That's like mortal men making their gods in the likeness of... well... Cthulhu or something. Though the Hindus have very strange deities, I must say. Elephants and monkeys and whatnots."
Just then, a shrill ringtone was heard, and reaching into his jacket pocket Logan retrieved his cellphone and glanced at the number flashing on its display screen, before excusing himself and flipping the phone open to answer it.
The conversation lasted for barely a minute, before Logan slipped the cellphone back into his pocket and flashed an apologetic smile to Chiru, saying,
"I'm terribly sorry Chiru, but perhaps we can continue this some other time? I have to go see someone about a job. It was nice to meet you, I hope you'll make a good Sire for Elisha."
With that, Logan stood and smiled once more before turning to leave.
