History:
Yoshi was a war orphan in the 12th century in Japan. During the rule of the Shogunates, he was brought up in the Shinto beliefs. Secluded from Japanese society. From a very early age he was known for his light footedness. Much like the Shaolin monks in China, the monks of the Lotus Blossom Monastery also dedicated their lives to becoming one with everything.
This they achieved through their daily practice of one particular skill or craft. Some monks could do a two fingered hand stand while ultimately aiming for a one fingered hand stand, others try to make their body impervious to physical damage. Yoshi on the other hand saw his ultimate achievement through floating up to the heavens.
So his life was spent every day practicing and training from dawn til dusk, to achieve this goal.
On the 400th year of the monastery a very evil day had dawned. While Yoshi had been out running on the serene waters on the nearby lake, the monastery had be decimated by an evil warlord. The smoke, noise and cries of his brothers, alerted him to the predicament of the Lotus Blossom monastery.
In a feat, inhumanly possible by normal mortals, he raced straight across the lake, then preceded to leap from tree top to tree top up to the monastery on the lonely hilltop.
The brothers of the Lotus Blossom Monastery were no more. It was a gruesome sight, sure he had seen wounded soldiers and dying villagers before to heal and tend to. But most of the monks had puncture marks on their bodies and limbs ripped right from their sockets.
Yoshi from this day forth would from this day forth would find out what had caused the demise of his beloved monastery. Over the next couple of decades he would seek out scholars, hermits, witches and all other manner of occult types. From them he gleamed a new and entirely different world.
He had finally reached an enclave of Chinese vampires, the 'Jiang Shi', using his years of training and dedication. He was able to follow and spy on them, investigating their habits and activities. After a few weeks of this he had found that they traveled to and from a near by cave from their town of residence. Yoshi followed and investigated for himself.......
