Personal DetailsFull name: Idony Poverson Divitiae D'dary Name meaning: Idony: English form of the Old Norse name Iðunnr, which was probably derived from Old Norse ið "again" and unna "to love". In Norse mythology Iðunnr was the name of the goddess of spring and immortality; Also, "idonee" is Latin for "propper". Poverson: child of someone poor (not necessarily materially); Divitiae: Latin for 'Rich/Riches' (not necessarily spiritual and moral ones). Nicknames: Iddy; Ids; Princess; Mini Cookies (Seppuku... -_- yeah); "My Lady"/Lady Darkness (Wil 'Pet'); Iddy-chan (Konamie) Nationality: English Gender: Female Sexuality: Heterosexual Status: Single Occupation: Reporter for the Villainous Times; Historian for the Library Arcanum Age: 18 Apparent age: 17 DOB: 2nd October 1989 Appearance: A slender, feminine and graceful frame, and rather short at 5 foot 2, Idony is rather petite and fragile looking. Her dark brown hair is rather wavy, reaching her mid back, matching her light brown eyes that seem to remind of caramels. These features, in combination with her full red lips that make her pout look like that of a young child, give an impression of infantile innocence. The general coldness in her demeanor and pose show the situation to be a different one though, and Idony is quite elegant and serious, formal, even mature in her movement and gestures. Attire: She prefers elegant clothes, as she was brought up to. Idony would prefer to dress like every other teenager, yet baggy pants and tank tops don't seem to quite be her cup of tea. And in general, she looks rather off in them. So the youth sticks to what she knows she looks best in: elegant, tasteful, simple, quality clothes. With the occasional jewel here and there. PersonalityIdony grew up to be decent and polite, as all children of a well-to-do family should be. She was always obedient and although didn’t like all that she saw, remained respectful and silent. As she became older, the immorality of the world around her became unbearable for a stubborn and proud child such as she was, and the girl started being less and less quiet, her age reflecting in the frequency with which she worked up the courage or nerve to correct her parents when they were overly sadistic and inconsiderate, in her opinion. Idony began speaking up and condemning her parents for their lack of modesty, the useless opulence they lived in and their ignorant nature. This boldness brought only punishment to the young girl, which she withstood quite well until her new stepfather started being physically violent; only slightly mind you, but a nature as Idony's wouldn’t let her stand such a treatment. The most horrible thing she can go through is humiliation, for she is quite proud and doesn't take kindly to being defeated, slapped, used or lied to. The same pride makes it almost impossible for her to accept help from anyone, in doing anything... Also, from all the years she had to fake before her parents and during society parties, in which she had to be a 'nice little girl' and make her parents look good, Idony gained the skill of feigning mostly any emotion, and hiding them equally well. She masters the arts of simulation and dissimulation pretty much as well as accomplished actress, while still holding an air of her native naivety. Idony is always one thought away from introspection, and whenever she has the chance, tries to make sense of her psyche. For one of the most annoying things about it is that the more she looks at herself, the more she sees how she resembles her stepparents. Her cunning and sly nature and general way of thinking, the mildly sadistic streak which echoes in her preferred lectures, the ease with which she lies and desires to lie, the thought of being sincere when there is no profit not even crossing her mind; all these remind her of the Divitiaes, and when she looks at herself, Idony is disgusted and self loathing. Another source of her discomfort with herself is the fact that she is treated with such care by her Sire and given opulent living conditions and clothes and jewels, when knowing her birth parents were no more than homeless vagabonds makes the youth feel she is completely unworthy of such treatment, especially give she’s benefited from it most of her life. She longs for the strength of character to behave as she sees she should: freely, openly, even in an honest fashion, and not posh and elegant as she’s been brought up to and as she’s been told to lie about. This is why Idony has a great deal of admiration towards free, outspoken people, and this preference reflects itself in her taste of people and art. She very much enjoys Punk music for instance, not only because, patriotic as she is, Idony feels it is one genre of music all British should like, but because it reminds her everyone can behave in any way they chose without having to worry about what others think. It reminds her one can be foul mouthed and violent and sarcastic and poorly groomed, and still have intelligence. As time went by and her new vampiric status brought something akin to more freedom, the youth has allowed herself certain liberties in thought and language, slowly feeling herself distancing from her life with the Divitiaes. Random facts:- Has the habit of talking with herself in her head. Although she finds this bothersome, and at times alarming, she has to admit it's a good way of getting close to an objective view of things, as her 'second self' rarely agrees with her. - Shares her birthday with Richard III of England, and is quite proud of it. She sees him as a sort of British Machiavelli. - Writes in a journal (which she names Libellus Idoniae[/b][/url], Latin for Idony's Little Book) not as much to keep track of things, but more as a sort of therapy and means to relax, putting down anything that's on her mind or that's been bothering her.

Idony was born on October second. Her parents, Anna Linkpast and Jacob Pettypenny, were just children themselves, her mother being 16 and her father 18. They gave her to an orphanage, where she spent the first weeks of her life. She of course recalls nothing from that period, so what she know about her real parents, she found out from reading her adoption papers and other documents, behind her adoptive parents’ back. The girl was indeed adopted, on the 13th of the month, by the aristocratic couple of Baron James Divitiae, and his wife, Olympia. The needed a child, to be heir to their enormous fortune, as they despised the rest of their relatives to the point of murder. Quite a few did die, apparently of natural causes, as Idony well remembers attending at least three funerals by the age of four. There was a sort of family rivalry, but evidence of foul play, or the reason of the whole ‘war’ were never reviled, and of course such things were kept from the young girl. When she was the age of four, Idony’s stepmother took her to her room, and told her the truth about herself: that she wasn’t their real child, and was only there to keep the family fortune away from their hated cousins and brothers. She remembers this scene well, and also the calm her mother showed, as if she was doing the most normal thing in the world. For the child though, it was a terrible blow… Olympia told her daughter that it was a great secret, and that nobody was to find out. When she asked why she had been told to begin with, the baroness stated that she was old enough to know, and it was an important thing to know; that way, she would take care not to make any more statements as to how she likes what neither her mother or father like, how she looked like neither of them really, and how even her allergies were different. In the end, she was being taught what to hide in order to put on a better act. That same night, Idony instinctively went to her father’s study, and searched through is files, finding the documents of her adoption. The next night though, she saw the baron through a folder of papers in the fire. Searching for them again, Idony didn’t find them. In the household, the girl had little friends. She was allowed to play with the servants’ children, but they never accepted her, as much as she longed for company. They were careful as to their behavior when the Barons were around, but the rest of the time, they brought no smile to Idony’s face. She was given private tutors from the age of six, and study, although exhausting and boring at times, was still a relief from the rest of her day, which she would spend in solitude, or in the company of her pretentious parents. They would talk of things that were of no interest to a young child, and never gave her much attention. Why should they? She was just a safety net, a strong box for the future… When she studied, Idony had a chance to occupy her mind, and forget about everything. The real joy though was playing the piano, skill which she started gaining at the age of ten. She could escape in the music, feel it, make it feel what she did, and gain a new identity even, along with the pieces she escaped in. All of this was only brief exodus though, as every time she opened her eyes, the same sight awaited her: greed, pride, opulence, plot and deviousness. The immorality of her parents either grew along with her, or she became too mature not to see it. How Idony managed to stay away from her family’s ‘habits’ remains a mystery. Maybe it’s because they never loved her, and she never really loved them, or maybe because they didn’t give her enough importance and attention, and didn’t spend enough time so that their way of being and thinking didn’t catch on to her. Either way, being radically different from her parents would prove to be a great misfortune… When she was sixteen, her stepfather, Baron James Divitiae died of an unknown illness. Although Idony suspected foul play, she never shared this with her mother – who must have had the same presumption – nor was this theory ever proven. The fact remained that hardly three months after her husband’s death, Lady Olympia Divitiae remarried, with Duke Charles Poverson. He was a cruel man indeed, but with a wealth that equaled the darkness of his soul. When Idony kept protesting about the even greater immorality that had fallen upon the family - the overly opulent manner of the Duke’s way of being, her mother’s swift marriage, and the discussion that was brought whether Idony should still inherit the family fortune, now that there were other potential heirs on the way, and the sharing of the fortune as well – she was beaten by her new father, not in a way that deformed her physically, but that left a deep scar on her soul. Insulted by his stepdaughter’s behavior, Duke Poverson arranged for the girl to be sent to a catholic school, famed for its strict fashion of teaching. Idony was given her packed bags, was given a ticked, put on a train, and that was the last time she saw her parents. While the journey was half finished, the girl still contemplated her dire and bitter situation, when the train had a malfunction, and had to stop. Looking through the small window of the compartment, Idony noticed a group of young boys jumping off the train, from the middle of the wagons. Intrigued, interested, unattended by anyone, guard or relative (not because of her parents' boldness, but simple because they didn't care), and seeing a way out, the girl did the same, and leaving her bags in her compartment, jumped off the train with nothing but her elegant and much too long dress. The girl wondered for two days through the countryside, avoiding people as she had an idea her stepparents were by then alerted of her disappearance. On the second day though, the hunger and famine were too much for her, having never been used to not eating at a regular time, and entered the first city she came across… It was oddly called Ravenblack.

Outside of RavenBlack[/u] Name: Baron James Divitiae Relationship: Stepfather ~ deceased Notes: The first father she knew, Baron Divitiae was always relatively cold towards his adoptive daughter. And while being as perverted as his wife, he always gave Idony the feeling that he was relatively naive. It turned out to be true when he died one day from falling off his horse in a way that got the girl - and probably others as well - quite suspicious of his wife. Name: Baroness Olympia (Divitiae) Poverson Relationship: Stepmother Notes: The woman who probably had most to do with the way Idony grew up to be as she is. While her husband was more self absorbed, the Baroness was ambitious and ruthless, teaching Idony how to lie and dissimulate in order to get what she (or better yet, what Olympia and James) wanted. She never treated the girl with respect or appreciation, and taught her to be more cunning and more realistic. Things that have stuck to Idony perhaps more than she wanted. Name: Duke Charles Poverson Relationship: Current stepfather Notes: A rather young, very handsome but also very ruthless man. Duke Poverson was quite charismatic and enchanted the lustful Baroness in an instant. They seemed to be very happy together after their marriage, short after James' funeral. Charles treated Idony much in the same way Olympia did, with mockery, disrespect and trying to teach her how to "better herself". When the girl chastised him for his complete lack of morality, a slap in the face was all that was needed for the proud child to get completely revolted. She was sent by him to attend a Catholic school via train afterwards, but she never reached it. Name: Aidan Hawke Relationship: First Sire Notes: The one to bring Idony into immortality, Aidan was very much liked by the girl immediately, even if he practically killed her. He gave her a home, a family, and good advice. Not to mention a great deal of support within the City. She's always liked and admired him, and the fact that she had to sever from him (when he announced he was leaving RavenBlack) - really the best choice to make for her unlife - drove a great deal of sadness and guilt in Idony's heart. Name: Candy McKindel Relationship: Friend Notes: Idony met her vampiric sister only a few times, but it was enough to get her to like Candy. The older girl seemed so much wiser, and despite being shy, still a notable and very pleasant presence. The last Idony heard of her, she was leaving RavenBlack along with Aidan. In RavenBlack[/u] Name: Ashley Remington Relationship: Former Sire Notes: Idony's former "sister" (under Aidan's siring) and sire for almost a year. From the beginning, the woman was sweet or sour, depending on the situation and subject of conversation. The relationship took several small but ultimately essentially fatal turns. She was estranged from the larger family, the sire concentrating more on the Thorn bloodline. Disagreements mounted, and conversation grew scarce. A displeased Idony, along with an equally dissatisfied Konamie, sought severance but were denied. Idony sold a diamond ring to afford the adventure. With proof of the sire's commitment to attack family friends - after Remi had already announced that anyone in the D'dary family that took the two in would receive HW attack from her -, Konie and Iddy went to the D'darys and Konamie could sever, after which both girls were taken in by Andre. He then severed Remi as childe (or rather, she did? still unclear), Legion severed her as wife, and she found herself without a family... For a full day. Two days afterwards she sired under Lestat and married childe BaShalor, both of which came as no surprise to anyone. Name: Seppuku... aka "Short Cake" Relationship: Friend and confidant Notes: An unlikely friend, Seppuku was the bondmate of Idony's "brother", Fenrir, whom she fancies. Instead of being jealous, Idony fell for the likable nature of the dark haired man. Though he is quite eccentric, and as he has proven eventually, can be quite rude and violent, Idony likes to think of Seppuku as how she first got to know him - an intellectual, a polite man, and a teaser. The fact that he calls Idony "Mini Cookies" enrages her as much as it makes her laugh. Things tarted going not so smoothly after his divorce from Fenrir, but Idony's always tried to keep things peaceful, even after their two sires started disliking each other over the same severance. Name: William Tender... aka "Pet" Relationship: Friend and... erm... *blushes* Notes: Yet another unlikely friend. Idony met him one random night as she was getting bored walking and finding no Kine to feed on, and came across the insane young man lying in the middle of the street. Although upon the first impression, the girl didn't even want to feed from him - seeing even the blood of insane people as sick and thus tainted - after conversing with him a bit, and more over, listening to Wil, she eventually developed the desire to sire him. Yet Idony did no such thing. In the meanwhile, William became the pet of her friend, Seppuku, and his situation alarmed the powerless girl. Before long though, Wil became a vampire himself, sired by Seppuku's own Sire, Chiru. Idony still couldn't help but feel the need to protect the youth, from Seppuku's occasional rage and mood swings to the hazards of vampiric life. So she 'took him under her wing', after a fashion, and started teaching him all she knew of life in RavenBlack, as a means to make it easier for him - in case his Sire didn't have the time or patience to educate him - and also became a close friend of his, constantly admiring his philosophical spirit and flawlessness in everything but mental sanity. Apparently, William appreciated her care and compassion, to the point of developing some sort of fancy for her. Idony still isn't clear on his feelings, or her own. But Wil has become her suitor of sorts, and his treatment of her is the sweetest she's ever encountered. Name: Fenrir Relationship: Object of... infatuation Notes: Idony first met Fenrir when she was, by vampiric standards, his aunt. She'd lost track of a human that had ran out into the outskirts and the tall Kindred helped her find him. They didn't meet again until Idony got resired under Remi and became his 'sister'. Ever since, the young girl has had a growing fascination with him, more hormonal than anything else. There is no love; just a childish and irrational desire. Yet one that can not seem to disappear. Whenever she's around Fenrir, the girl teases him as much as she can, knowing he hates to be hugged, bitten from, called "Fennie-poo"... Yet the playful teasing hides a more deeper devotion, and Idony isn't going to stop uselessly lusting over him anytime soon. Name: Konamie... aka Konie-poo Relationship: Best friend and sister Notes: Idony met the Asian vampiress one night at the Lounge, and although her first impression of her wasn't a very positive one, once they go to talk and get to know what the other had to offer, Idony happily exchanged her promise of friendship and a debt for information Konamie could get her in aid of her Ex luna scientia articles. Since, Idony has paid her debt, Konamie has left the Ferrymen, but their friendship has gotten more and more solid even after they stopped needing anything in particular from one another.
