The view outside of his window seemed so serene, Kiyoshi can almost forget it was a city. Everything was quite and calm in the mansion he was residing in. He smiled to himself, before prying his blue eyes away from the 2 inch glass windows, and over-looked his room. Walking over to his bed, Kiyoshi placed his journal away, trusting that nobody will come in and disturb his privacy. However, he didn’t believe Angelique’s family to be of that manner. Licking his lips, the desire to drink was starting to eat away at his stomach. Sighing slightly, Kiyoshi walked over to the bathroom. Preparing himself a bit, he dressed in a pair of black jeans, and a clean crisp white T-shirt. He didn’t bother with a jacket, simply putting on a black turtle neck shirt he bought from a second hand store, however it fitted him perfectly over his petite frame.
Putting on his converse sneakers, Kiyoshi walked out of the door and headed downstairs. He was sure nobody would mind that he did a little exploring for himself. The pup was just becoming curious of the city that he currently was living in. Closing the front door behind him, Kiyoshi wondered through the outskirts of the city - admiring the beauty and serenity he was experiencing in the mellows - before his feet touched the cold concrete jungle of Raven Black City. He learnt the name while speaking to Angelique. He was excited, he was part of a family! An actual family.
Smiling to himself, Kiyoshi slipped his hands into his pocket. His eyes roamed about playfully, till they landed upon a lonesome male. Blood-lust seemed to fill his eyes, however he quickly shook it off. Rushing past the human; his head down, Kiyoshi continued through the city. He refused to drink from fresh prey, no matter how bad his body was craving it. The fact was: he still couldn’t believe he was a vampire. With a gentle sigh leaving his lips, Kiyoshi rose his head up once again. He was glad to see the street he entered was empty, and not so far away from the mansion. He sniffed around curiously, half-forgetting that he should at least act human while looking it.
However, something caught his interest. Peeking into a dark alleyway, Kiyoshi tilted his head to the side at the sound of a kitten meowing.
Kiyoshi snuck into the alleyway, looking upon the many places a kitten would hide till his eyes laid upon a while-gray mewling. He smiled as he neared the kitten, however the dear feline must’ve smelt the sent of dog on him. Hiding behind a trash can lid, Kiyoshi’s smile turned into a frown. He knelt down in front of the kitten, coaxing it out with soft words of reassurance. One would think Kiyoshi was silly; but he was just that big of a heart. The kitten was finally convinced into coming onto Kiyoshi’s lap. The wolf smiled, and brought the mewling to his chest, with a smile. “There, there.” he said softly, petting her behind the ears. Standing up, he existed the alley way, only to stumble slightly. He was faced with a group of boys who were watching him. Raising an eyebrow, Kiyoshi turned to walk away.
Only one of the males stood in front of him.
Beginning to ‘taught’ Kiyoshi, and attempting to intimidate him, the young wolf only side stepped them into an open spot and kept walking. However, he was being perused. “Idiots.” Kiyoshi muttered, not wanting to get into trouble. He didn’t want to loose the kitten, after all he wanted to give her a home. His ears twitched as he heard a piece of metal fly in the air. Stepping to the side, he narrowly missed getting hit by a metal pipe that was thrown. His eyes looked over his shoulder boredly, Kiyoshi was always this cocky: he didn’t need to become a vampire to be one. He nuzzled the top of the kitten, who cried softly, before he continued walking. A grin formed over his lips as he found a lounge. The teens were still behind him, as if it would really bother Kiyoshi. The wolf simply ignored them, until one gripped him by the back of his hair.
Kicking his leg back, he hit them square between the legs. Kiyoshi glared at them, and round house kicked the next guy that came after the first. The kitten was comfortably being held against Kiyoshi’s chest, his grip never becoming tense. He watched as the teenagers ran away, snarling and rubbing the back of his head. Ki instantly wrapped his arms around the kitten again to keep it warm and walked into the lounge. The warm arm was welcoming, and thankfully, calming. Sitting out to the back, Kiyoshi placed the kitten on his lap. He watched as the small thing curled up tiredly. “May I take your order, sweetie?” a kind waitress said softly, smiling down at Kiyoshi. The wolf looked up to her, a smile appearing on his lips. “A cup of blood, and a bit of milk….do you have any cat food?” “Yes, your order will be filled soon, sweetie.” she replied with a smile, before heading off again. Kiyoshi smiled, and looked down the kitten, who looked up at the mention of food. “I’m going to spoil you.” he chuckled, tickling the dear kitten under her chin. A soft meow sounded in the air as she played with Kiyoshi’s fingers. It was rare to see Kiyoshi this un-tense but it was a beautiful sight no-less.

The lounge was one place that Etienne Alderic had very rarely visited in his life long stay in Raven Black city. He'd never held the desire to go 'lounge' in a smoke cloud used for drinking and other types of questionable behavior. If he'd wanted to drink, smoke, or behave in a questionable manner, he'd do it at home. The only down side of staying home was the fact that he was always by himself, as of late. Etienne didn't have too many friends, with the exception of Sinner and everyone somehow related to him. Mana and Darwin were more like parental figures than friends, but he cared for all of them the same nonetheless.
No matter how much Etienne would deny it, he was becoming even more and more lonely as the time went by. He hadn't had a decent conversation with another living being in what felt like months. The only cure for both his lonliness and boredom seemed to be the one thing the youth had sworn up and down he'd never travel to: the lounge. The soft patting of Etienne's feet against the concrete was the only sound the came from the boy as he made his silent way towards the heart of Raven Black city. He strolled around the city street corners, avoiding every homeless human and prostitute he should come by.
His nose was colored a pale red, despite the thick black jacket he had bundled within, prior to leaving his home. Etienne's bangs tickled his chin as he watched the ground pass faster and faster beneath him. Before he could realize how far he'd traveled within the city, the thick smell of alcohol and smoke made his nostrils flare. The scent was enough to coax Etienne to look away from the ground, despite the slight look of disgust that had tainted the calm expression usually printed upon his features. His green eyes first fell upon a pile of young males, all of which were bleeding from one pore or another. Etienne arched an amused eyebrow, chuckling despite the bloody scene before him. 'Somebody must have crossed the wrong kind of person...' Etienne chuckled darkly beneath his breath once more, before turning towards the entrance to the lounge.
A cloud of smoke seemed to seep from the lounge as he pulled the door back. Etienne cringed as if in pain as he entered the building, taking a single deep breath before continuing into the lounge. Luckily for him, there were very few people here. In fact, there seemed to be only one that he could recognize as a person he believed he could relatively get along with. Etienne blinked and cautiously approached the end of the bar that just so happened to be close to the table where the blonde-headed youth was sitting. He was silently trying to determine where he was from and how old he was simply by observing his actions. As always, Etienne never considered the fact that he was staring.
"What would you like, dear?" At first, Etienne found it hard to take his attention somewhere else. It was like some kind of spell had overcome him and he couldn't hear anything else that was going on about him. He could hear the woman's voice in the back of his head, repeatedly requesting for his order, but Etienne couldn't bring himself to look away from the blonde boy sitting alone in the corner. Eventually the woman switched to actually tapping Etienne kindly on the shoulder. Soon enough, the youth quickly snapped his head into her direction with wide, blinking eyes.
"Oh... I'm sorry, Miss.. Just surprise me.." Etienne leaned away from the counter, turning his head into the direction of the blonde boy in the corner once again. Slipping his arms out of the black jacket he'd worn, Etienne folded it over the back of a chair on the opposite side of the youth as he leaned against the seat. "I don't suppose you'd mind if I shared a table with you..." Etienne arched an eyebrow and tilted his head, a slight smirk present in place of his typical rough frown.

The waitress wondered back over to Kiyoshi’s table, placing a small saucer of milk mixed in with mashed cat food on the table. Kiyoshi looked to the plate, and back up to the female with a questionable expression. “It’s only a kitten, I do believe she needs to eat soft foods first.” she explained gently, a bashful smile spreading over Kiyoshi’s lips.
“Hai, thank you.” he voiced softly, petting the kitten sweetly behind her ears. She eagerly jumped onto the table top and began to eat. She had the will to eat, which was a plus in Kiyo’s mind. “My name is Claire, by the way.” the waitress said as she placed Kiyo’s blood order on the table near the kitten; “If ya need anything else, just call me up.” she smiled. Kiyoshi grinned up at her, taking a sip from his drink. “Hai, I will…thank you. Name’s Kiyoshi.” he answered her, and allowed her to wonder off to do her job.
Meanwhile, he leant against the chair and watched his newfound kitten eat. He wondered if Angelique would allow him to keep her, but he already knew the answer was yes; all he needed to do was ask her. Running his hand through his pale hair, Kiyoshi chuckled softly as she seemed to finish the plate of food. It caused him to wonder for a name for her.
‘Snow?’ too cliché for a kitten.
‘Flake?’ worse than snow.
‘Ivory?’
“Ivory.” Kiyoshi said with a smile, petting her gently. He watched as the kitten jumped back down onto his lap, and curled up into a ball. Pushing the saucer to the side, he took a sip from his cup. The kitten meowed gently, purring. It was full of food, but now tired as hell it seemed. He nuzzled the top of her head softly, before raising his eyes over to the lounge. It was quite, and peaceful; the kind of silence he liked. Relaxing back against his seat, he allowed his mind to roll over different things. Like…what to do now that he was an immortal? Gaining friends seemed hard, especially with this shy little wolf.
“I don’t suppose you’d mind if I shared a table with you…”
Incidentally, Kiyoshi’s ears popped from the top of his scalp at the sudden voice that entered his ears. His humanoid ears disappeared as he looked up to the male that spoke, a shy smile crawling over his pale lips. “No, I don’t mind.” he said softly, not knowing that his wolf ears were currently showing for everybody to see. The waitress that had addressed him looked in awe, a smile over her lips before she continued to fill in orders. Everybody in the lounge didn’t seem so surprised, this city seemed filled with all kinds of surprises.

Before the young male could answer, Etienne's attention was momentarily caught by slight movement atop the boy's head. His eyes flickered to the top of his head where two wolf-like ears perked up from hiding beneath his blonde locks. Etienne blinked in thought and grinned slowly. It didn't surprise him that the boy wasn't even relatively normal; no one around these parts seemed to be normal anymore. At first, he didn't know what to think of the ears, other than the fact that they were indeed very interesting. The only ears he'd seen like that were the ones Toshiya had during his time of change, but that was something he was definitely not going to think about while he was happy.
The grin upon his cheeks quickly turned into a pleased smile as he pulled the chair out and took a seat with his arms folded across the edge of the table. It had been a long time since he'd ever attempted to make friends, especially in the lounge. The last time he'd been here had been a very long time ago, when he'd gotten a little tipsy and started making trouble. That had resulted in the relationship in which had just ended. Etienne sighed softly with a slightly nostalgiac feeling churning at his stomach, but he quickly tossed the memories aside as he turned his head back to the boy before him.
"What's your name?" Etienne spoke, his voice deep though smooth. He slid his hand across the table, avoiding the glasses and bowls so as not to make a mess. He gently touched the kitten's head with a single finger so as not to scare it. Kittens and other small animals alike didn't typically like him all too much, considering his species. They could sense the thick snake blood running through his veins and they didn't like it all too much.

Kiyoshi’s ears flinched with every sensitive sound that vibrated in the room. The kitten meowed shyly to the new comer that came to join her, and her new found friend. Curiosity entered her eyes as she watched the male, being rather protective of the person that saved her from starvation. Kiyoshi smiled softly when he sat down, figuring that he’d make a friend tonight. Ivory’s small paws were placed on the edge of the table, trying to get a good look at the guy. “Kiyoshi. Kiyoshi Jaden.” Ki replied, taking a small sip from his cup. “And yours?” he asked, watching as Ivory purred gently at the soft pet she gained.
Ki only chuckled softly, petting her on her back. She was a fairly small kitten, which made her perfect for the rather large wolf. He chuckled slightly when Ivory decided to sit on top of the table, watching her walk across to their companion. “I think she likes ya.” he commented softly, with a smile.
It was rare that Kiyoshi wasn’t his serious self, but there wasn’t any reason to be like that in Kiyoshi train of thought; he was calm, and somewhat happy. After all, Ki still wasn’t happy with the outcome just yesterday morning.

Etienne's slight grin turned into a visible smile as the kitten peaked over the edge of the table. To him, it was just as adorable as could be. He was more than pleased that an animal was responding to him in a positive way; most animals, especialy kittens, didn't particular show very much interest in him. Etienne spared Kiyoshi a glance as he offered his name, his smile still in place as he nodded his head and left the kitten alone for now. Etienne sat back in his chair, his arms resting comfortably in his lap as he took in Kiyoshi's outlook. He seemed happy; Etienne was envious of him for that simple fact. He may have looked as though he was happy, but he certainly wasn't having all too great a time.
"Etienne Alderic.." He silently hoped and prayed to whatever god that had been watching over him that Kiyoshi had never heard his name before. Many a time Etienne had tried to speak to someone new in attempt to make a friend, when the friendship was spoiled due to the fact that he was a widely known... in more than one sense. Etienne Alderic was a profound business man, as well as a successful musician under the alias of Miyavi. While he hadn't released any music in quite a while, there were still an occasional few that could recognize him.
"Are you from around here? I don't believe I've ever seen you on the streets anywhere before.." Etienne tilted his head, showing that he wasn't merely curious but truly interested. It had been a long while since Etienne had met another person and befriended them. He hoped that Kiyoshi could become a friend to him.. and a good one at that.

Ivory sat in front of the gentlemen and meowed for some attention. However, before any response was given, the small kitten shyly ran back to Kiyoshi and jumped onto his lap. Instantly, she popped her head over the edge again, meowing softly. Kiyoshi couldn’t help the small chuckle that left his lips and petted her softly. She seemed so adorable and playful, that Kiyoshi was sure he’d be fine with her living in Angelique’s mansion.
Looking up to the male, Kiyoshi smiled as he listened for the name. It was a rare, rather pretty name that Kiyoshi found originality to. “Pretty name.” He commented softly, his blue eyes looking down to the kitten as she curled up on his lap. Taking his cup back into his hands, Kiyoshi took a long sip before looking to Etienne once again. “I just got here…I think yesterday…I kind of lost track of time.” Kiyoshi uttered shyly, a small blush flaring on his cheeks.
He hated it when he’d forget the time he’s walked into the city. But it had to be a day and a half he’s been here, after all; he walked in when it was 5 in the morning of November 20th. ‘At least I remembered now.’ Kiyoshi thought to himself, scratching the back of his hair. “You’ve been here long?” Kiyoshi asked curiously, wishing for an honest opinion on the city.
Sure, he’d already decided long time ago he’d stay with Angelique and become her son; but the teen couldn’t resist wondering even more about this dark city. It was obvious that it didn’t hold many of the formalities one city should have, which sparked his interest. The only thing he did worry about was hunters.

Etienne simply watched the kitten with a broad smile fresh upon his cheeks. He followed the kitten with his eyes as she scurried across the table to jump into Kiyoshi's lap like her life depended on it. Etienne couldn't help but chuckle quietly under his breath as she poked her head up over the table once again, making her presence known yet again. Looking back to Kiyoshi as he laughed and cared for his kitten, Etienne was reminded of the relationship with the single pet he did 'own': Veleno, the green tree python that visited his home every once and a while. Etienne considered Veleno a friend, not just a pet. Veleno came and went as she pleased, making sure to stop every once and a while to play and talk with her dear friend. Etienne didn't mind that Veleno would stay gone for weeks before she returned, he simply wished for her to remain happy.
Etienne's eyes flashed up to blink into Kiyoshi's face as he spoke again, answering his previous question regarding his arrival time in Raven Black. Like he'd expected, Kiyoshi hadn't been here but a few days. Etienne nodded his head in understanding, a small smirk in its usual position upon his face. He could sense that Kiyoshi had already had a run-in with one of the 'friendly locals' that ran this city, so there was no need to worry about having to explain much to the youth. That was actually quite relieving to Etienne. "I've been in Raven Black for a good while. I lived in Japan for a portion of my childhood before my family moved here to live." Little did Kiyoshi know, that Etienne had actually been living on his own in Raven Black since he was twelve years old. When his parents had died, they'd left their entire estate to their only son. Following their death, Etienne's sister, Akemi, had requested to be moved back to Japan to avoid facing the death of her parents. The thought of losing his entire family in the course of one week was enough to break his smile.
Etienne shook out of his thoughts with a single deep intake of breath to calm his nerves. He blinked his eyes as his eyes moved across the table, following the grains and noting the different patterns. The act alone served as a momentary distraction for the youth to forget all about his family. Another deep breath and Etienne was back in business. "How do you like Raven Black so far?" Etienne didn't expect much of a positive feed back, seeing how he didn't particular like Raven Black at times either.

Ivory purred as she cuddled against Ki’s hand. It was obvious enough that she never interacted with a human being before, thus taking an instant liking to the affection. Kiyoshi couldn’t resist paying at least a little bit of attention to her; being that he’s never really held a kitten, just seemed them from a distance. His crystal orbs looked up to Etienne, a hint of envy vibrating deep into his heart. He couldn’t help it, memories of his own past was something he wished he had; but never gained. The doctors said it was curable, and only but a spark of the past that is to be mentioned to him can bring everything back; but nobody knew where to get Kiyoshi’s family, or knew if they were even alive. The only thing he had was a necklace and bangle, something he was certain belonged to his parents.
Not wishing to show his discomfort, Kiyoshi lifted up Ivory and cuddled her gently. “I can’t say I like the place…yet…” Ki replied to the question that Etienne had asked; “But it isn’t so bad…I’m going to be re-sired into a family., but I have traveled through four cities before this one..” Ki continued with his small explanation. The word family, it was used very little when it came in a conversation with Kiyoshi, but it seemed it was true; he was gaining a new family. One he felt comfortable in. Not like those many foster homes they would’ve tried to get him in. He’d run away. “I don’t…really have a past…and if I do, I don’t remember it…all I remember was waking up in a hospital last year remembering only my first name.” Ki added after but a moment, placing Ivory back onto his lap. This was the first time Kiyoshi would even remotely mention he’s memory loss.
Ivory hopped onto the table again, traveling over to Etienne. This time she didn’t seem to shy away. Kiyoshi couldn’t help but chuckle lightly when she hopped onto Etienne’s lap friendly, looking for a bit of attention. “Do you have family?” Kiyoshi asked out of the blue, curiosity simply running through the young wolf. The teen found out on his own that he’d be a lone wolf. However, that thought was being analyzed with the fact that currently he was joining a family, and right now, he was making a friend. It brought a soft smile over Kiyoshi’s lips.

Etienne's previous thoughts about his pet and family caused an overwhelming sense of desperation and loneliness to sweep over the youth. He felt his heart sink and his stomach dropped before he realized that he was staring off into space again. Etienne ran the palm of his hand over his face, taking every drop of sweat with it as he once again tried to forget everything and everyone in his past. The seventeen year old silently cursed himself for having such a good memory; he hoped and prayed that over time, the said memory would begin to fracture and all of his unwanted thoughts and memories would shatter along with it.
His eyes traveled slowly over the table, watching small droplets of condensation leave wet trails down Kiyoshi's glass as it sat untouched before them. Just as Etienne began to wonder where his drink was, a light tap at his shoulder brought his attention to his side where the same woman stood with a tray and a glass in her hands. A gracious smile tugged at the corners of Etienne's lips as the glass was placed before him, filled with some foreign liquid that he could not identify off the top of his head. He arched an eyebrow as he unconsciously smelled the drink, while he slid a stray hand into the pocket of his jacket to retrieve his money. Etienne wasn't sure how much the drink would cost, but he gave the woman a very decent amount of money. By the look on her face, Etienne could safely infer that he had given her more money than he really owed.
"I'll be right back with your change, sweetie.." She hadn't taken but a half-step when a small, though kind smile told her otherwise. As the woman tilted her head to question, Etienne shook his head. "Keep the change for yourself." After giving her his five word explanation, Etienne's attention was once again turned elsewhere as he heard Kiyoshi's voice calling out to him. Smiling had started to become second nature to Etienne, but that was before he had to hear what Kiyoshi had asked him. He'd asked the mother of all questions: a question about the one thing he didn't have. Etienne's eyes averted his new friend's gaze and watched the door as if someone might come in and save him from having to answer this question. His mouth dropped several times to respond, but nothing of any sense managed to leave him once. After many failed attempts at trying to change the subject, Etienne simply sighed and continued to answer his friend's question.
"I used to have a family. Both of my parents died when I was twelve. My younger sister wanted to move back to Japan to live with our grand parents, so I let her go without me. I couldn't leave our family's home. I couldn't let anybody else live in it when it holds too many of our own memories." The tip of Etienne's finger absently drew anxious circles in the condensation of his own cup. Occasionally he took the time to take a small sip or two between words. "I've been living on my own now for about five years. The only reason I've been allowed to is because the public thinks I'm a lot older than I actually am.." He stalled for only a second, silently debating about whether or not he should verbally explain to Kiyoshi the situation regarding his age. In the end, Kiyoshi won the battle whether he knew it or not. "I'm actually only 17 years old. To everyone else, I'm 22. I look old, don't I?" Etienne chuckled in hushed tones under his breath before taking his glass in his hands and downing more than half of the drink. Judging by the way the beverage smelled and tasted, he was beginning to think that the waitress wanted to get him drunk..

Kiyoshi’s wolf ears twitched, having stood sitting on top of the teen’s head for all this time that he has yet to give notice to it’s existence. The kitten meowed gently as she looked around curiously from another angle of the room. She didn’t like the place a lot, but at least she was warm and with her new friends. Kiyoshi finished his cup, placing it to the side. He had forgotten it was there, and had the sudden urge the gulp something down. His attention was brought fourth when Claire walked over to them again. His soft blue eyes simply watched, sometimes never having words to speak until spoken to. Moments later, he looked to Etienne when his question was answered.
A pang of guilt hit Kiyoshi’s chest, having regretted asking the question. He remembered so many people asking him the same question, he didn’t feel anything because…he didn’t know anything. The only thing he felt was true was that the necklace and bangle belonged to them. He didn’t know if he had siblings, or aunts or uncles, if he lived happily or horridly. Nobody came to reclaim him in the hospital at all, or even came up to see him. But it didn’t seem to bother the young one.
Kiyoshi shook his head softly, with a half smile. “You don’t look old. A lot of people say I look 17...but…I just know my birthday, I don’t know my age.” Ki admitted, scratching the back of his head. For all he knew, he was really 15 but nobody was sure enough to tell him. His mind was scrambled and only remembered certain things. His birthday, not year. His name, not full. His daemon status, not pack or powers. He relearned his powers in the hardest way that left him rather startled.
“I’m sorry about your past…sometimes I wonder if it’s best that I forgot about my own..” Kiyoshi uttered softly, lowering his eyes to Ivory who popped her head up over the table again. She meowed gently, before attempting to get on the table entirely. She succeeded, but tumbled in a cute way. Kiyoshi chuckled lightly, watching as the kitten wondered about the table top. At least she didn’t go on the ground and get lost; Ki would worry more than a mother hen. Which is saying something.
“Ivory, don’t do that.” Kiyoshi said softly as the kitten almost tipped over one of the cups sitting on the table top. He cupped her into his hands and held her to his chest. He chuckled when she pawed at him, before he looked up to Etienne. “Well at least you’re not alone.” Kiyoshi said with a bright smile.

The longer Etienne spent with Kiyoshi, the easier it became to smile. Etienne never really was a 'social' kind of person, but he found that Kiyosho was exceptionally easy to talk to. He was grateful for the new friend and he couldn't wait until they were given the opportunity to become even better friends. Despite the fact that Etienne hadn't known Kiyoshi for much longer than a few minutes, he'd already become rather fond of Kiyoshi's presence.
"That's very true.." It was a proven fact; smiles were contagious. Before Etienne could do anything about it, a grin was slowly beginning to broaden into a healthy smile. "However, this setting isn't the greatest ever.. buuuuttttttt.... I can overlook that..." Etienne turned his head towards the ceiling to spare a small glance to the cloud of smoke hovering about them. It was rather unsettling, but Etienne could ignore a big cloud of smoke for a new friend.
"Don't apologize for things that aren't your fault. My parents death was an accident. As for my sister, I don't blame her for wanting to leave and I'm glad she did live. I wouldn't want her in a city like this." Etienne shrugged his shoulders in a gesture that simply meant to forget about it, though he couldn't help but feel slightly curious about Kiyoshi's own past. He wondered what had happened to him to cause his memory blank-out, but he wouldn't bother to ask in fear that he might bring up painful memories for his new friend. The beginnings of a weak smile tweaked the corners of his lips as he nodded his head in a sluggish manner.
"So..." The soft tones of Etienne's voice told of the intellectual workings slowly churning in the depths of his mind. He almost suspected that it was a planning of fate that caused his and Kiyoshi's meeting. "We both lost our families in the past and neither of us have anyone left but our pets." His previous smile had faded while explaining the similarities they already shared, but without much delay, the smile was up and running once again. Etienne took his glass in his hands and felt a shiver run up his spine from the sudden cold touch. He stared blankly at the surface of his drink before taking a small sip to suffice his thirsty needs.

Ki rubbed the back of Ivory’s head softly, earning a gentle purr from the white kitten. He chuckled lightly, and rose up listen to Etienne. He chuckled softly, understanding where Etienne came from. The lounge wasn’t really a nice place at all with the excess of people smoking all in one place. Kiyoshi wondered if they would ever ban people from smoking in doors for the weak humans with weak breathing. Kiyoshi didn’t mind it really, his lungs were different from any sort of human present, smells were the only thing that effected him.
Ivory curled up peacefully in Kiyoshi’s lap, having tired out. Her little eyes closed gently, revealing that she wanted to take a small cat nap. Kiyoshi simply adjusted her so that she wouldn’t be disturbed when he shifted, and looked up to Etienne. Kiyoshi was feeling comfortable with the male, he wasn’t like the many depressing people he met. Not that Angelique and Sayo were depressing, but people he’d meet randomly. A sudden memory popped up, which caused Ki’s heart to sink. It was a memory he wanted to forget most of all, a mistake that couldn’t be fixed and never will be.
A soft deep breath, undetected, was taken in as Kiyoshi calmed himself down. He didn’t need to think of the past. What happened, happened. It was out of his control for now.
Ki couldn’t help the soft smile that twitched at his lips. He thought of some things he could mention, his guitar was what came up. “I play a guitar.” he uttered randomly, brushing back a lock of blond hair that had gotten in the way of his blue eyes. “Call me one of those struggling artists.” Ki joked softly, with a smile. Even if his work was good, he still struggled because his rank wasn’t high enough for people to like. He was a daemon, to humans, they were the lowest thing known to man. However, Kiyoshi didn’t allow that to bug him.

Etienne wondered if he hated this place as much as he did. Although he had indeed been raised in this city throughout his teenage life, it had become rather dull. All it seemed to do these days was present memories in which he wanted nothing more than to forget completely. While he had planned on moving away for quite some time, he was suddenly regretting his decision in fear of losing his friends, or what friend he had left now. The green of Etienne's eyes swirled in a mixture of other shades, indicating a slight change of mood. He couldn't explain why, but his nerves had just taken a dive for the worst. Etienne couldn't recall any other time when being around a particular individual had caused him to be excessively nervous. He silently questioned the reasoning behind this, wondering if he was beginning to actually like Kiyoshi more than he should at this point..
The thought was quickly tossed aside and his attention was brought back to Kiyoshi as he attempted to spark random conversation. It was an exceptionally good attempt, judging by the sudden broad smile that had taken over Etienne's facial expression. Music was the one thing in life he always had, no matter what had happened. Etienne was an extraordinary musician; he had always been unusually musically inclined. He learned to play piano and the guitar by the age of six, thus explaining why the youth was so notably accomplished.
"You play guitar.." An unconscious thought crossed his mind: he was curious if Kiyoshi would ever cease to amaze him. With every passing second, he had something new to tell Etienne. Coincidentally enough, nearly everything he had to share, they had in common in one aspect or another. "Not to sound cocky, but I can play just about anything if you set it down in front of me." His smile had faded, but it was still present curling the ends of his lips. It was surprisingly easy for Kiyoshi to make Etienne smile, even if he wasn't doing anything but listening to what he had to say. Little things meant a lot to the kid, whether or not he made his appreciation well known.

Hunger began to gnaw at Kiyoshi, however he ignored it. Angelique would kill him if she found out, but he couldn’t bring himself to older another cup of blood. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to waste coins, he didn’t like the fact he needed blood to survive. Sure, he needed meat as a wolf but that didn’t mean harming humans just to gain what he needed to survive. Rubbing the back of his neck as he fought himself, not wanting to let the hunger show; Kiyoshi kept a calm and casual out-look. Ivory purred softly, however shifted slightly upon hearing but an inaudible sound from Ki’s stomach. He simply petted her softly, before looking up again at Etienne. “Really? That’s cool!” Ki said, his hands absently clapping together childishly. “I taught myself the guitar after…well, stealing it from this one jerk three or two cities back.” Kiyoshi confessed, a shy smile crossing over his lips. Nobody really knew Ki’s guitar was stolen, and that way it shall stay.
It suddenly came to mind that him and Etienne had a lot in common, if it wasn’t one thing it was another. He was growing to like him a lot. “I can write...and well, sing my own music. It isn’t good, but…it’s something.” Kiyoshi spoke up again with a smile, opening up little by little. It was a sign that perhaps everything between him and this male would work. After all, he’s held a lot of friends that never seemed to stick around. However, Angelique was more then just a friend, she was his mother and guide. Sayo was like his sister, big sister at that. It made him happy to know he had people that cared about.
“Can you sing?” Ki asked curiously, his aquatic eyes actually brightening a bit despite his hunger. It didn’t take much for Kiyoshi to brighten up, you just had to learn the right things to say to a wolf such as himself and attitude was a must. It reminded him much of when he met Sayo. He opened up right quick around her with her kindness, that he instantly accepted her even when he didn’t notice. Same went for Angelique, although he did see her yell at Sayo for being awoken, but Kiyoshi wouldn’t have blamed his sire. After all, he wouldn’t have wanted to be awaken either.
Ivory shifted slightly, her small frame was little enough to fit on Kiyo’s whole thigh. He petted her lightly and gently placed her at his side where she’d be comfortable. He’d bite the first jackass that even attempted to sit where she was and yes, he was already being a mother hen to the kitten. She was adorable, who wouldn’t?

Etienne propped his elbow on the edge of the table and rest his chin in the palm of his hand. His glossy eyes glared out at Kiyoshi through hooded eyes. His glare was not from anger, but from pure curiousity. There was just something peculiar about this individual youth that Etienne could not put his finger on. Whatever it was, it was definitely something he wanted to stick around long enough to find out. A low chuckle escaped him as Kiyoshi expressed his apparent excitement through a series of childish giggles. Personally, Etienne found it rather cute. A grin quickly flashed upon his cheeks, only to fade away just as fast as it had appeared. It reminded him of the things Toshiya would do, which in turn reminded him of the things he did wrong. Etienne swallowed with astounding difficulty and forced a smile upon his face.
"Interesting story. Perhaps I could give you a few pointers one day." He licked his upper lip and circled around to trace the bottom lip. "I have five or six guitars. There's a few that I don't use anymore somewhere in the back of my closet." Etienne had a bad habit of hiding everything that he didn't want to see anymore in his closet, behind his clothes. There were boxes and boxes of pictures and remnants of what used to be, including photos of his mother and father before they died, his sister before they moved, and Japan before he left his home for good. The last time he looked at those things was when Toshiya had accidentally found them and being the inquizzative type, had asked about them. Etienne realized that his thoughts were becoming a little off-topic, so he shook his head and returned to the topic of discussion with Ki.
Etienne arched an eyebrow after taking a deep breath to clear his blurry head. The side of his thumb swept over his bottom lip. "It's definitely not my strongest quality, but I get by with it. You're a better singer than I am." He gave a crooked smile and cocked his head to the side, blinking his eyes as if trying to decode a hidden message. As of late, Etienne had been visiting the lounge quite frequently which gave him plenty of opportunities to hear Kiyoshi's singing. He didn't want to embarrass the youth, so Etienne refrained from saying much more.
