The Cost of Family
((OOC: This is thread of many threads to come. Basically Kye is looking for a sire. Fully Powered, and doesn't have to be a wellknown bloodline or anything. Gender doesn't matter.))
The scene was the usual. Casual and mellow in all sense. The soft clatter of glass against glass mingled with the soft chatter of dates and lone drinkers. Icy blue eyes watched it all for the corner of the room. The owner absently stirred the thin straw of his drink, something from some 'secret admirer'. He had only sipped at it once letting the slight bite of alcohol tease his taste buds.
Kye had come here on more than one occaision. It was mainly as a way to be alone for a bit and think, something he couldn't do while at his apartment. It wasn't that he didn't want to be around Angel and Zoya. It was quite the opposite. The youth just needed to analyze a nagging feeling that had been steadily growing in his chest. He couldn't quite put his finger on it. He had a bondmate that he loved with all of his heart. He had a steady social life more or less and a best friend of sorts. What was he missing.
The youth sighed softly. his gaze flickered down to his drink causing his dark brown hair to fall into his face. The fine strands curled slightly against his pale alabaster skin. He wiped slightly at the tickling feeling the strands caused. His hand dropped to his lap resting on his jean clad leg for a moment as he sat back in his chair with another sigh. He couldn't put his finger on it and doubted that he would ever. Maybe it was all in his head.

What had only been weeks had seem years, a lifetime ago. I hadn't much of a remembrance now that lingered with me of my life so far. Bits and pieces I'd learned from my Mother, Majica, others had just grown on me somehow. I'd been married, but apparently I should rather be glad than upset to have forgotten the most of it. I took their word for it. Just the same, as I began picking up my life again, I felt a deep inner peace, even though there seemed to be something missing. Much love to give, someone to give it to missing.
Moving to the Lounge, having heard stories about it, I wander into it and glance around, watching the people sitting there in fascination, a few in seeming dates, others sitting alone, drinking. Spotting Kyle then, I smile. Yes, those ice do linger in one's memory. In addition to the cute face of course.
Ignoring the glances sent my way with near absolute determination to get to him, at the very last moving out of the way to sneak up behind him, "Guess who?" Smirking playfully then, I whisper, "Get it right and I won't bite" Might still go ahead and do it, but ... the chance was less that I wouldn't.
Not wanting to be rude by inviting myself to sit, I smile, "Mind if I sit down with you?"

Kye had been staring at the lounge blankly. He was so deep in thought that he didn't pay attention to the person approaching him. It was probably the only time he would have probably ended up killed by someone...or at least wounded. Luckily for him, it was someone he had met at one point and time. That much he cuold tell....but she felt different. Kye almost looked over his shoulder with a smirk. Hmmm....lets see...." He sent telepathically. His voice still hadn't recovered from the damage sustained from fighting Alexander. That didn't keep him from giving a coy smile and tappying his chin lightly. The only question was whether he wanted to be bitten.
Figuring that Angel wouldn't appreciate any bite marks on him other than his own, Kye finaly chuckled. "Hello Lena. How have you been?" He inclined his head making a motion to the table he sat at. Naturally, he didn't have a problem with the woman sittingn with him. It was good to see an old friend. "Of course I don't mind."

I listen to his voice, and smile at his recollection, satisfied, I sit myself down at his invitation to do so and smile, "I believe I've been quite well as of late" Looking at him, as if only then realizing it had all been telepathy, I raise an eyebrow, "And yourself? You've not lost that lovely voice of yours, have you?" Would be a shame indeed, especially for his fanbase.
Studying him slightly, as though trying to find evidence that something wasn't quite right, I then satisfy myself with the knowledge he doesn't appear in a bad state. Maybe just overworked his voice. Looking at his drink, barely touched, I smile, "Would you prefer something else?" Glancing around the room a second time I nod, "It's a nice establishment, quiet, not too crowded" No men offering me drinks as though it should impress me that they could either.
Looking back at him I ponder, "It's been a long time since I spoke to you last. Seems like a lifetime ago" Suppose it very well was a lifetime ago to me, as I tried to recall the time we met, during one of his performances, smiling I add, "I hope your life from then has been filled with joy?" Seemed a strange thing, but I hoped indeed that he hadn't been subjected to any unpleasant events in the time from when we parted ways.
Strange it was that it was indeed at this point that I should meet him again.

Kye watched Lena take her seat with a smile in place. He was glad not to be spending the night drinking alone. But the smile faltered hearing her question about his voice. His hand unconsciously raised to where he could remember the blad sticking out of his throat. Though the memory wasn't pleasant, his face remained pleasantly neutral. "I guess you could say that..." He answered with a wry grin. It was a small price to pay when one was protecting his family. He would have gladly lost it again if he had to. "Other than that, I've been doing pretty well." As he spoke, he lowered his hand back to his drink. The smile was back but only because he didn't want Lena to think that she had said something wrong.
He looked from her to his drink absently. He really hadn't come to drink, just to brew on things. "It's alright, just something to wet my tongue for the moment." He answered casting his gaze back to Lena. "Would you like anything?" He offered in return. His attention turned to the rest of the room and nodded in agreement. It was one of the reasons he had come here in the first place.
"Yes, we've both seemed to have changed quite a bit." He said taking Lena in with a whole new light. She was still beautiful but the light around her had chnaged a bit. And Kye himself wasn't the angry teen he had been back then. The death of his father was now in the past. He was able to go to his grave and not feel the overwhelming urge to go on killing sprees.
"Ah, its had its up and downs." He answered. He had bonded and asked to be severed since the last time he saw Lena. He had faught a bit but that was it. Life had taken a drastic turn towards merely existing for him.

His emotions go into a slight distress, yet seem as fast to have been hidden away again, as though he didn't want me knowing more of it, and, I accepted this, no point in pressing the matter at this point anyhow. I smile as he answers that other than his voice he'd been pretty well, "I'm glad to hear that" Glancing at his wedding band for a moment, I look up at his question, shaking my head, near following into his state of muteness myself before recalling I very well could speak, "No, no thank you, I'm not thirsty"
I then frown at myself for the admission, unsure if I ever *was* thirsty, rather than just in the mood of the habit of drinking, just the same, I didn't feel like having anything at that point, in that respect I also understood his reasoning of just having the drink to wet his tongue, but found it needless to add this.
As he reflects we've both changed quite a bit I smile, then nod, "Yes, it would appear so, it seems you've quite... settled" He seemed more at peace, somewhat like me I suppose, smiling anew, I glance at him and take in the dark brownish hair that bordered on black. I hadn't even noticed the difference at first, not really having recognized it as a difference in appearance, "That colour's very nice on you by the way"

Kye, for a moment, caught the flickering glance to the ring on his finger. He looked down at it as well with a smile on his face. By his look alone, it was easy to say that the antique looking ring had some sentimental meaning to him and it did. Angel had given it to him the night that he proposed. Kye hadn't taken it off since that night. He absently toyed with the band with the two fingers that were on either side of it.
As he did, he looked back to Lena. "Yeah...though I've come to a small delimma of sorts." He said lightly. "I'm bonded, close to being fully powered...I should be content with my unlife yet...it feels like something is missing." He said feeling the need to say it aloud. Maybe it would found more or less sensible to his ears or to another's. So far it still sounded vague not giving away whatever was missing.
He paused hearing the comment about his hair. A smile tugged at his lips. His hair had gotten darker and darker as the days went on since he fell ill. The short time of misery had left him with more than one changes to his physique and possibly species. "Thank you...though I think it may be getting darker eventually."

As he speaks out loud then, I raise an eyebrow, quietly considering what had caused such a thing, then smile, resisting the urge to tease him with lines such as him missing his fanbase, or the fame, realizing well that the dilemma he offered was not one to mock or tease him with, pondering more seriously on what could in fact be missing I find that as of yet, I'm unable to think of anything that could explain the missing factor.
Glancing at his hair as he speaks of a possibility of it growing darker still I raise an eyebrow and, in wonder and curiosity unable to restrain myself from doing so, I raise my hand and touch a lock of it. As I catch myself, I draw back my hand and yet am still filled with wonder; what could bring about such a change? Dare I ask?
Going back on his dilemma, ignoring the curiosity I felt growing within, I consider carefully, "Before, was this... what you feel is missing now, there? What I mean to say is, do you know when this feeling that something was indeed missing came about? Has it always been there? It is.... something material? emotional?" Too many questions perhaps, but if it helped him discover what was missing so that he might obtain a new sort of peace or even happiness, I didn't mind asking too much.
Ordering a drink, just to give him the chance to consider the answers to my questions in peace, without him feeling rushed or pressured, I smile, sipping the martini briefly, before putting it down again.

Kye remained still as Lena reached up to touch his hair. The strands were feather soft almost like it would be easy to break them. However, it was the complete opposite. The strands, even individually were difficult to break. He tilted his head to the side as she withdrew her hand letting the strands fall into his pale face. He knew she would have questions about the change and would gladly answer any she would have if she got enough nerve to ask. For now, he listened to her questions concerning his dilemma. "I know its not material." He muttered telepathically. "I guess..." He paused for a moment thinking back where things had started changing for him.
"I guess it started when I found that I was banned from my sire's lands.....but that was after I asked to be severed." He said softly. He took an absent sip of his drink waiting for Lena to finish her order for a new drink. When it arrived he looked at her expectantly to see if she had some kind of resolution for his situation.

As he assures me it's not material I smile and nod, I hadn't thought it would be, but didn't want to assume anything, as he explains it started around the time he was banned from his sire's lands I nod. I'd seen it often happening on Mother's lands, some of her children, grandchildren and so on just couldn't adapt to the size of the family, couldn't put in consideration how their actions reflected on the family and were asked to leave. Shaking off the thought I glance at him, "Though you asked to be severed... do you think it's your sire you miss? Or more so the sense of belonging to a sire?"
For a moment, I study him, then wonder out loud, "Why did you ask to be severed, if I may ask? Is it... Does it have to do with your hair?" It seemed the strangest question to ask anyone, whether such a choice could have something to do with hair, but I hoped he realized I meant more the fact of him changing, even if it was mostly in appearance, rather than just the hair itself.
Perhaps what happened to his voice had to do with his hair. God, I near felt like a detective at this point, I'd ask, at one point or another, just not this point, and not yet. Silly thing to be worried so about a dilemma of which the source wasn't even known, yet a growing concern was being established within me, and I sought to have it put back at ease as swiftly as I could.

Kye thought on what Lena asked. The questions constituted many things he had never bought into the equation. He paused bringing up the memory of his old sire. After a moment of recalling a few events, he couldn't really say that he truly missed Sinner. He shook his head, his brow furrowing just slightly. "I would say it would be the sense of belonging." He finally answered. There was some sense of relief having finally identified the reasoning behind the feeling he was having. He turned his attention to Lena hearing her question about his wanting to be severed and his hair. He chuckled softly opting to tell the easier one first. "No my severying has nothing to do with my hair." He answered sparing a wry smile. His hand absently lifted to stir the straw of his drink.
"My sire didn't seem to be around much unless there was something wrong with him...I mean...it wasn't a bad thing but..eventually it felt like.....I was babysitting him." It sounded a little mean to his ears but he knew what he had done was right. How could he depend on a sire that seemed to have more problems than he did. If it wasn't him breaking up with so and so, it was amnesia. Who knew what would have happened after that. He shook his head. He let out a mirthless snort.
"Now for my hair.....I got sick. Really sick and its been darkening ever since." He shrugged lightly running hand through it. "And my voice was lost from a fight with a hunter of sorts." He left out the fact that the very hunter that had attacked him was now in a cooler in his closet still very much alive. He hightly doubted Lena needed that sort of mental image.

I smile as he chuckles, was nice to hear a sign of 'happiness' (more or less) from him, even if it did border on a somewhat bitter note. I listen as he explains the reason that drove him to ask for a severance. I nod, "It should've either been the other way around, or working both ways... I can't claim to know him, or his reasons, but his way sounds wrong indeed. A childe should not carry responsibility over the sire, and if it does, the sire should at least return the favour, not just when there's something in it for him"
As he speaks of his hair, I raise an eyebrow, wondering what sort of illness could do that, "And... this sickness, has it done anything else? More... damaging than giving you a nice new haircut?" It seemed odd that just an illness could do such a thing, without causing other things with it, or maybe it was just the end of the illness, where all physical effects had disappeared already.
Raising my other eyebrow as he speaks of losing his voice because of a fight with a wonder I couldn't help glancing at his neck as though I'd find a scar of sorts. Though of course, a fight could exist of shouting, which could cause someone to lose their voice, a fight between a hunter and a vampire hardly ever consisted of speaking alone, even if it was shouting.
Tilting his chin up I catch sight of a scar that's barely visible, one I wonder if a human could even see, still, I felt a sadness within as the images played themselves in my mind, drawing my hand back I nod, "These days the hunters seem to have grown quite bold with their violence toward us, I'm sorry you were the victim of one of them"

Kyle nodded hearing Lena. He was waiting for someone to either tell him he was wrong to think what he did or tell him that it was okay. It seemed to ease his mind for a moment. He chuckled in amusement hearing her next question. He nodded truthfully. "After all of the symptoms went away...some things changed." He took another absent sip of his drink trying to figure out the best way of explaining these changes. "I'm more sensative to light...my hearing has dropped to human level....and my fangs are hollow as far as I know." He said listing all of the major changes as of late. There was also the venom that leaked every now and then. He was an enigma to his own eyes now.
"I have slightly dulled sensation at times...and nights where I wake up and can't move." He sighed looking around the room lazily. Though his hearing was going, his eyesight was becoming sharper. His gaze paused on Lena again hearing her speak on his ordeal with the hunter. He gave a morbid smile, morbid to him because he knew who the real victim was in this scenario. "I wouldn't say I was much of a victim. Not as much as he is."

I raise an eyebrow, frowning at my new established habit of doing so, and listen carefully as he lists the effects of the illness which sounds to me more like a curse than a sickness, and I wonder, "When did you get sick? Is there something that started it?" What sickness could possibly cause such physical changes as to affect the senses. being unable to move, sensitive to light... Trying to make comparisons of sorts with things I know of, I find I can think of none, hollow fangs can't be a good thing either. Frowning, I realize I want to help him change this ordeal, yet can't think of how to do it.
He says the hunter was more a victim than he was himself, which of course made sense if you consider that a human is never a match for a vampire, especially a human that aims for the throat. Though the hunter may strike a harsh, damaging blow, hardly ever it is lethal for the vampire, while near all encounters end with the death of the hunter, rather than the one being hunted. They forget, after all, that we *are* the top of the food chain, we are what hunts them, we are the Rulers of the Night. We are Darkness. We are Shadow. And we are eternal.
Recalling I hadn't spoken so far, I nod, then smile, "I am certain his fate was worse than yours has been, but I must admit your fate is of more importance to me, therefore it is in a way quite worse"

Kye thought back when he became sick exactly. He couldn't remember the exact date but he knew that it had been the longest week of his life. "A few months back, I guess. It was before I asked to be severed....I remember that much." He answered muttering the last part to himself. The disease had tampered with his cerebral cortex thus a few memories were lost to him. "I was bitten...by a human that was sick." He answered. He reached over to his sleeve rolling it up slowly to show where a tribal design was standing bold against his pale skin. He was somewhat relieved that it wasn't leaking the inklike substance it had been on occaision. "I'm still not sure what she had but it affects vampires too." He said lightly. He had almost gone into torpor thanks to that little ordeal. It was a good thing it was over though.
He looked from the mark on his arm to Lena to gauge her reaction to everything he had said. A smile tugged at his lips hearing that his fate was more important than the fate of a hunter. "I'll be sure to tell him that." He said softly letting her know that the hunter wasn't dead and was at his disposal. "Thank you for your concern."

I raise my eyebrow, yet again, as he says the illness came from a human biting him, and I watch as he reveals a marking on his pale skin, and study it with a mild fascination, he confirms not knowing what the mortal's disease was, and I nod my head at that. Whatever it was, or has been, it's most strange that it would affect an immortal, we, who do not fall ill by human sickness, "Are you certain she was ... sick?" Again 'curse' appeared in my mind, or 'poison', something that would explain why it would have affected him so when it shouldn't have.
I smile at his words about letting the hunter know, deciding I wouldn't applaud him for keeping the hunter alive, nor inquire the state of the man, for my own peace of mind, then smile as he thanks me for my concern. I shake my head, "No need to thank me, I would be a horrible friend if I cared nothing at all about your state of mind and your health."
Smiling yet again, I can't help but wonder, "That mark, what is its meaning?" It came from nowhere, but I can't recall having seen it last time we've met, and perhaps, if indeed it had appeared after the bite, it would more likely be a curse than a sickness after all.

Kye cocked his head at Lena's questions. Things he hadn't even wondered aboout after getting over the ailment popped into his head. He hadn't even thought it could have possibly been a curs eof some kind. Why else would it defy the laws of nature the way it did. He withdrew his hand from his cup to tap on his chin thoughtfully. His lips pursed and unpursed as his mind tried to go over every symptom he could have had that night. "I didn't even think that it could have been a curse." He said truthfully. His gaze danced over the room as if he were trailing an insect of some kind. Finally, he turned his gaze to the woman sitting in front of him. "It may have been one....it would explain the other side affects as well." He waved a hand feeling slightly different now that a new light was shined on that.
"The marking is a tribal dragon design...I don't know the meaning behind it." Now that he thought about it, he didn't know a lot of things about anything that was going on with him. All he did was adapt to whatever turned up. Like the something that was peeking its multiple purple eyes out of his shadow. Kye spared it only a glance having gotten used to it. It was Sly one of his shadow minions.
"Hai, you are a very good friend." Kye said. "I bet you are a very loving sire toward your childer." He said lightly. He didn't bother with second sighting her. He had never gotten into the habit of doing it.

I nod my head as he mentions not having thought the illness could be a curse, that it would explain the other side effects too and I nod, "It just seems odd to me that it would affect you so strongly, for being a mere sickness. It must be more than that" I wonder about it being transferred through biting, if he bit a human now, and left it alive, would it too fall 'ill'? Momentarily, I caress the outlines of my pendant, a glass vial with a fairy decoration over it, filled with something that could occasionally be spotted lighting up ever so slightly.
As I focus more directly on the mark I nod as I begin to see the outlines of the dragon design he says there is, then glance at him, happy to have helped him get a few steps further along the problems he found himself faced with. As he compliments me being a good friend, I smile, then as he mentions being sure I'm a loving sire, I briefly close my eyes in thought, then open them to glance at him, "I have no childer, but I would hope that when I do, I can give them all the love they could want for and deserve"
I pause, considering, before I continue, "Family is important to me, I wish that my Childer would experience the same love my Sire shares with me and all her family. I should be all too sad if my Childer were to feel unloved, and even more horribly; unwanted, unwelcome. There has been a period I've been told, that I found my place in the family of Wilde confusing, that I felt unwelcome. Upon hearing this news I swore to make sure as much as I could to not suffer others from feeling thus, especially my Childer, if I am to have those."
Realizing I fell into a rambling of sorts that felt more like a speech than just a comment, I blush slightly, then smile, "Time will tell if I make a good sire, I suppose"

Kyle made a mental note to figure look up a few things that would help him in finding out more about this possible curse. He nodded absently as Lena spoke trying to figure out where he could get such information. Surely Ravenblack had some type of library that would have infomation on the subject. He tapped the table lightly focusing on Lena once again. His mind was going a mile a minute so when she spoke of not having childer, he could help but frown. If anyone would have childer, he would think that she would. Lena seemed like the kind that would give their childer the world if it were possible.
"That is a shame to hear. You have such a motherly aire about you." He said before thinking about it. Lena behaved the way Kye grew up thinking they were. It was the complete opposite of what his biological mother showed him. Realizing what he said, he blushed faintly not sure on how to explain the 'aire' he claimed the woman had. It wasn't meant as an insult so he hoped that she wouldn't take it as such.
"What I mean is....I couldn't imagine anyone not wanting to be your childer." He said not sure whether he was putting his foot further into his mouth or not. He simply left it at that giving Lena a chance to say what she wanted regarding the comment. In his head, he could hear Sly snickering telepathically. Kye's gaze flickered to his shadow glaring subtly before looking back to the other vampire.

Smiling at his words, I nod, catching the faint colouring of his cheeks, as though he'd said something wrong or something he embarrassed himself with. He goes on then, explaining his comment about me having a motherly aire about me, and I smile anew, "I'm not sure I've always been such Mother Material, my life was chaotic and filled with issues I couldn't truly deal with at that point. I'm more at ease now, have an inner peace and no problems surrounding me."
I pause, wondering if I should relate such flaw in myself to him, but, I had changed for the better, I should feel no shame in how I was before, I was not a bad person, just... lost. I have found my way, it's not a bad thing. Looking at him, I add, "I think that if ever I am to become a mother to someone, the time is now. Of course, I can't predict the future, I don't know what will happen, or... what I'll become, but, right now, the timing would be perfect I believe"
Realizing how far the subject had quite actually drifted and slightly uncertain of the attention being so fully on me, I glance at him, "What of you? Have you found someone you welcome as a Childe?" The pendant glowing a soft pink for a moment, I smile, absentmindedly tapping it, "I have to admit I find it difficult, siring. I'm not sure I want to take someone from mortal life... My own siring was more or less mandatory, I didn't have much of a choice, yet... to take life from someone... Immortality can be nice, and trust me, I'm quite happy with my immortal life, but something inside of me, morals I suppose, prevents me from siring anyone who can live still"

Kye mentally told himself that this was Lena he was talking to. Telling her she had a motherly aire wasn't goign to anger her. Not like Cassandra, his birth mother. He listened to her words and smiled faintly. Everyoene had their problems in the beginning. But as she said, the inner peace always came sooner or later. He nodded. "I have to admit that I admire your determination." He stated. He had almost started to say more when he felt his drink being lifted out of his hand. His eyes drifted slowly to it seeing an almost monkey like tail coiled around it. It wouldn't have been that much of a deal if it wasn't for the tail coming out of the floor where Kye's shadow rested.
He didn't bother keeping the glass from being pulled to the ground. A smirk twitched at the corners of his lips as the class clattered noisily before tipping over spilling the beverage. He didn't know how many times he'd have to tell Sly, normal items couldn't be passed through the floor. He turned back to Lena. "And whoever you take will be very lucky to have you as a mother." He said honestly. He just hoped that said person would be just as dedicated as Lena was to stick around through thick and thin.
He was drawn out of his thoughts hearing the question. He thought about it absently letting his gaze drift to the pendant Lena toyed with. It was very pretty. With that tought, he began to answer. "No...I've met vampires since my siring. All of which I could only see as friends and nothing more." He said. He had entertained the thought of letting Seppuku sire him but didn't think it would be best. They were too much alike in certain fields. It was probably why they were such good friends. "I have to take your word on that. I've never sired before." He commented hearing what she thought on bringing over humans. Did this mean she was more towards adoption? Kye couldn't help but feel his curiosity peak.

I blush slightly as he compliments my determination, and watch, with a curious amazement, as some sort of tail coming around his glass lifts it up and whisks it away, down to the floor where it then shatters into bits.
He seems unaffected by the event, which tells me that whatever it was, he knew what it was and knew that it didn't need to be feared, so ... I thought nothing of it, but wonder alone, unable to help it, "Friend of yours?" Smiling as he says whoever my Childe will be should be lucky, I bite my lip, "I hope I can make your praise a truth when it comes to that"
I smile anew, nodding at his words, "Do you wish for a new drink?" A strange thing, I hadn't even been paying attention to the human who was hurrying to get the mess cleaned up, and I help him, handing him a few broken pieces of glass before he thanks me and rushes off to dispose of it. The momentary disturbance had distracted my thoughts to the point I was no longer certain what I was about to say.
Going back over the conversation, I smile, "My Mother prefers to take mortals, as many of our kind do, I suppose it depends much on the situation and the person, but I believe I'd feel much better to take in someone who is already lost to mortal life, not because of the knowledge of the immortality such a person would possess, but rather so that the guilt won't be with me should the person come to regret deciding to be immortal."
I pause, glancing at him, "I suppose that's somewhat selfish of me, but it's a very big worry to me... having a Childe that discovers he or she would rather have stayed human, that'd blame me for the siring"

Kye shifted in his seat slightly watching the human clean up the glass. Though it didn't show, he was trying to keep Sly from sucking the man into his shadow as a snack or toy. When the man finally hurried off, Kye looked to Lena once again. "You could say he is." He answered. Sly wasn't his only 'friend'. He also had Sloth and Ickle. However, Ickle tended to stay on his back in his tattoo as he should. And Sloth was too busy watching television at home with Zoya. It was for the better in Kye's thought. He didn't have to worry about any more surprise 'guests'.
He smiled hearing the woman's wish to prove his praise right. He nodded listening intently to what she continued to say about preferring childer that were already changed by another. In more than one way, it made sense though he doubted he'd ever regret changing someone. "It meakes alot of sense actually." He told her.
No sooner had he spoken, he could hear Sly's voice in his head. "Is you getting a new mama, Kye?" The shadow creature asked curiously. Kye blinked falling silent. His hand absently went up to tap his chin lightly. A new mother.... He looked back to Lena, this time in a new light. She was fully powered, had a bloodline....conventionally, she was an ideal sire. However, on an unconventional level, she wanted to be there for her childer whenever she could. She was loving even to those not related to herself.
"Lena...if I were to ask you to adopt...would you?" He said slowly choosing his words carefully.

As he acknowledges that what I said did make sense I smile, not having been fully certain of that myself, sipping the drink, I hear his question and for a moment, I'm caught in surprise as I allow the question to run through my head 'if he asks me to, would I adopt?'
Adopt a friend of his? A random stranger? Well not a random stranger obviously, as that would most definitely be considered silly, if not just downright weird. I wonder then, adoption would equal motherhood, and for a moment I find myself worried about my ability of being a good Mother, as good a Mother as I hoped to be anyhow. Then I shake it off, passing that off as silly as well, then glance at him, "I'd have to say that would very much depend on who you'd ask me to adopt, but I probably would"
Simple truth, I would have said yes as I can't imagine him knowing people that I wouldn't want to sire but still it was always better to have some amount of caution rather than just going yes and find that you may not be able to keep your word of doing so. Probably wasn't a no, nor a yes, a perfect way to not being faced with having to go back on things because I after all decide it's not a good idea.
Going back on our conversation however, I consider the subjects, just piecing things together to where it had gotten to his question and I look at him. Could he mean to ask me to adopt him? If he did, I believe I'd be proud and honoured to say yes', I'm certain he'd make a good child, not one to pick fights unless he must, no drugs either... which is always good. Just the same I shake the thoughts from my head. Best not to assume lest I'd be disappointed

Kye looked down at the table thoughtfully. In his mind, he went over everything that had led up to this question that was boiling at the back of his head. There was no reason that he could think of that wouldn't call for his want for the woman in front of him to be his sire. Their chemistry seemed right and Kye knew that, even if he wasn't her childe, he could depend on her. The thought bought a smile to his lips. "I wouldn't ask you to sire anyone random.....the question is more directed towards myself." He started.
Unconsciously leaning his elbows on the table and lacing his hands in front of his mouth. Since he wasn't using the normal means of speaking, he didn't have to worry about his words being muffled. In a way, the posture made him look exactly like his father, something that no one would be able to tell him other than Hellena or Cassandra.
"What I'm trying to say is...I'd be honored if you would consider siring me." He stated and awaited her answer.
